Is your Talk Talk line a fully unbundled line, dialtone from TT's switch instead of dialtone from BT's switch (resold by TT to you ?)...its not that easy for you (the end user) to tell , TT may not have a telephony prescence in your exchange (or do have but no spare ports,) but they will still offer line rental, but its resold BT wholesale dialtone...so to state 'I'm with TT and dont have this problem' may not be relevent if you are not comparing like for like.
I'm sure lots of TT full LLU customers have Sky boxes calling home over TT fully unbundled lines without problem, but there are various posts from people who do have this problem, and the real issue is that TT will say its not their network and Sky will say its not their STB's and it leaves the end user being charged 2 full TV subscriptions instead of the 'multi room' subscription for £10....

Just to say I went ahead with Sky multiroom and it works fine with a TT LLU line

If TT LLU was not compatible with Sky it wouldn't work for anyone so the fact it works for some not others means the people with problems are tearing their hair out in frustration - but the fault is not because they are with TT per se, it must be something else

Don't see what all the fuss was about...!

And still don't see why the TT reps couldn't have said this - but anyway let's not go there again, just posted this so people aren't spooked by the stories like I nearly was.

Mondeoman, just a warning - my SIL has TalkTalk fully unbundled line with Sky+ multiroom sub - all was well for over a year...then out of the blue he got a bill for the two boxes because they claimed that they weren't connected to the same phone line!! He got it sorted by Sky forcing a manual ring back ...but then a few months later it happened again ...so keep an eye on your Sky bill.:)
