I don't think anyone was being picked on. Some posters were simply asking "if you get money for extra care, but you still don't get the extra care, what use is the money?".
I forgot to add, I also consider my DLA as extra income so that I can afford to buy pre-prepared veg in the supermarket, because I find peeling & chopping fruit & veg impossible, and sometimes it's nice if my husband doesn't have to do it after he's been at work all day (obviously, if I didn't have him, I would have to buy it all pre-prepped).
If we start getting all defensive and het-up when we are asked about our circumstances, it's natural that some people would become suspicious or over-assertive in return.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

this is SH justifying ( although i dont see why she has to) what she spent some of her DLA on
Pretty much, yes. I did have a standard one; but the backlight (to see the numbers) is far too bright.I think in future people may well be required to account for the cash.
Which will cost the taxpayer a lot of money the DWP staff a lot of time. It doesn't say anywhere that people have to spend it on disability related things.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

i have unfortunatly found this to be the case tho in the short time i have been here, who has the worst illness? who gets the most money? why do u get it? some peole have the same illness but it effects them in diff ways but then there is a slander match as 1 of them has to be lieing, why do they have to be lieing? maybe its just a symptom you havent had yet, an then the children all children cope different an some have dissabled parents as well so of course there going to show some of the same dissabiltis in a diff way, its like when u an your friend have babie at the same time its a fight to see who's baby can walk an talk first.......does all this really matter in the bigger scheme of things just be glad you only have your own disability an no one else's an yeah you may not beable to cole with fred's illness an him not yours thats because you have adapted an learnt just how to cope with your own so a bit more support an a lot less picking from the majority of people on this board may actually help my original posts dont het much notice any more because they have been turned in to a circus act by DISABLED ADULTS0

I moderate a forum for one of my disabilities. Some people there will say "do you have this?", "do you have this problem?" etc. And there is none of this "I haven't got it, so you've got to be lying". People there do accept that we are all affected differently.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

sh1305 - do you get your low vision stuff online? I get mine from both the RNIB online shop and also from http://www.optimalowvision.co.uk/ both VAT free. Might save you a few quid. Also eBay can throw up some real bargains but there isn't usually any VAT saving there.Only 3% of those registered blind in the UK have zero vision.0

Well said. I'm guilty of some of this too.

It depends what it is I need. My local eye hospital give out basic magnifiers for free and I get the other stuff I need from RNIB.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
