What is it with Landlords and integrated appliances!

I guess that is one advantage of buying your own property?
I wish we could afford to buy, if we bought a house with those appliances they'd come straight out. Unfortunately Landlords aren't keen on tenants removing kitchen fittings!
Oh well. At least it isn't just me that's having the problem anyway.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Yeah wouldnt we all. Sadly I dont have 350k sitting around to purchase a one bed flat so will have to rent
SIGH:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

SIGH
Wow, even here you can get a 3 bed house for that
Unfortunately we have school catchment issues here making rents way unaffordable.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Where abouts are you Delain? Were in London ( looking in North London pretty much anywhere) and East within Zone 2 ideally and have quizzically found rents to have risen and a real lack on the market ( once you discount those dire kitchens) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? We're in the process of looking for a bigger house. Not having just left home, I have my own fridge freezer, washing machine, cooker and dishwasher.
Fair enough the fridge freezer can go in a corner somewhere, even if it' in the lounge, we're finding it isn't big enough anyway.
My cooker however, is a good one. It's Zanussi, only a year old. I don't want to get rid of it or cook in a single oven with a built in grill that will probably break in a year and then I'll have to replace.
That's the rub of it really. They put cheap appliances in which are a step down from what I've got!
Landlords: Some of us want to be able to use our own stuff! Stop integrating rubbish cookers already
Sorry rant over. Just seems you can choose between houses with 80's kitchens or pants cookers!
Find a property that doesn't have built in appliances then. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

We come under the Bournemouth BRMA.
3 bed houses (really small ones with almost no garden, in the catchments for the dodgy schools) start at £750 a month, and won't usually accept anyone with more than 2 kids or anyone under 5.
One house in Catchment is £1,100 pcm for a tiny looking bungalow
We're looking to move to Cornwall, OH's family are there, and he's got enough range of qualifications to be able to get a better paid job. That's if we can avoid the rubbish cookers :rotfl:
ETA: Yes I'm looking for houses without them. But if I find a nice house in a nice area I'd be stupid to pass it up and live in a house with a 20 yr old kitchen somewhere I don't want to be because of my cooker. The point is, I shouldn't have to choose! I just want landlords to put in kitchens with gaps, or freestanding appliances I can store somewhere else if they really want to provide them.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Yeah, sorry meant to add we also need a garden!
NOT a patio or balcony which rightmove seems to lump in with "gardens" on their search facility
Better keep on looking lol:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Zanussi good?
Sorry but I wouldn't have a Zanussi as a gift.
All built-in appliances are not rubbish.
I have built-in appliances - MIELE - AEG and NEFF and they are excellent quality and have lasted some years without a any problem.
That said - I do hope you find somewhere you really want.
Good luck.0
