nice to hear that from someone who sells phones for a living. yes i am curious too to find out your top five list of smartphones based on performance and reliability only (ps: excluding the amount of commission sales people get for phones as a reason for recommending a phone obviously:o)

Well, I don't get commission anymore so I prefer to recommend based on reliability and performance.

    My top 5 would be:
    1. Samsung Galaxy S - Reliable, stunning to look at, functions well and very, very quick. I love this phone, I won't lie.

    2. HTC Desire - Lighting quick, build quality solid, camera not amazing but has one point on the Galaxy for a flash, however more data hungry than the Galaxy and battery life is poor so it loses out on the top spot.

    3. HTC Wildfire - Very good value for money, again reliable and for the price you pay, you get a lot of features.

    4. Blackberry 9700 Bold - I'm not the hugest fan of Blackberry's but I do like how fast this one is. I like how easy it is to use the emails and office abilities on there. However, no where near as fun as an android phone.

    5. Sony Ericsson X10 Mini - So cute! I like how they're bridging the gap between ordinary users and those people who want high tech gadgets. I surprised at how responsive the touch screen is for such a small phone and just how much it had to offer. Only issue is, it can be difficult to configure the data settings and people expect far too much from this phone and expect it to be an iPhone equivalent - it's not, it's just a really fun phone to use.

I dislike any handset that's running Symbian, I find the OS to be slow and outdated. I don't like the S.E. Satio or Vivaz, can't stand pretty much any of the Nokia N series (except perhaps N95 8GB) and the iPhone 4 is a joke. It's got all the right ingredients and being an iPhone 3GS owner, I was SO excited to get it in but it's been so unreliable and more trouble than it's worth. It's such a disappointment, I genuinely feel Apple released it far too soon. What a shame. :(

So yeah MissKeith's top 5 smart phones. :D
Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)

thanks for giving us access to "Miss Keith's top 5 smart phones" :p:T

    just a few more queries
    1. blackberrys are well known for their pushemail features. what are your impressions on comparing the pushemail features of blackberry and htc desire and samsung galaxy s and iphone4 (i dont know if the iphone 4 has pushemail).
    2. how are the enterprise features comparable on the above mentioned phones (for calender / email / synch / security / remote wipe etc)
    3. why do you say the desire is data hungry compared to the galaxy s? i didnt get that one as both are android phones. is it the htc sense browser or htc widgets or anything else?
    4. any comments on wifi access using proxy settings on the above mentioned phones?
    5. what are your recommendations for accessories for the htc desire ie bluetooth headset, car dock, portable speaker/dock. or docks that allow data access and charging via the microusb port of the desire.
    6. any recommendations for wireless induction chargers for the htc desire and do they work well?
    7. have there been any returns or complaints on the samsung galaxy s because of synching problems.
    have a nice day

In regard to the Galaxy S one of the girl in the office had one delivered last friday for her boyfriend.

And she let us have a look and play with the Galaxy S.

The few of things i noticed about it.

The screen was massive compared to most touch screen i have seen.
The screen was very clear and impressive
The phone was very light weight.

However the disappointing thing was that everyone in the office though is felt really cheap and poorly made.

I know we havent tested it in the real world but the "feel" of it compared to the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, Nexus 1, Desire was not great.

A little convenient that 4 out of the 5 recipients of a free Galaxy S work for marketing companies though.
looks like they gave away 100 samsung galaxy s phones via twitter for free  . too bad i didnt know about the offer early on before all were given away.
