It would have to be fairly recent, say 3 months old, but definitely not 3 years old lol!
Can he not print off a bank statement online and take the clubcard letter with him to back it up?
If he has other online accounts, mobile for instance, can he not print off a bill to take with him too?
I'd just ring the reg office and ask them what will be suitable, saves getting there and them turning you away because you don't have the right documents.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

We took all of the details (my parents drove 100 miles to give me the docs (I have no passport)) then the woman at the registry office didn't know why I needed them!!

Didn't dare tell my mum! We got to stay together and were asked the same questions - him then me! All very simple! Woman was a bit of a battleaxe though! x
Sorry for worrying people before!

In a few weeks we'll be able to book our registrar and give notice. We live in blackpool but marry in warrington. So do we ring warrington to book registrar a year to the day and sort a time for the ceremony. Then do we ring blackpool after we have done that to book an appointment to give notice and pay blackpool the notice fees. Who gives us the ceremony info pack? also i don't want my real dad's details recording but my step dad is no longer married to my mum, though he's giving me away can they have his details?:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

I'm getting married at a church next July, when will the reverend be reading the bans? Sorry just a little concerned as many people have mentioned they already had them. Thanks

we are marrying outside blackpool but live in blackpool too.
I reserved the date with the registrars outside blackpool first, then I rang blackpool registry office to book to give notice.
So yes you are exactly right.
Blackpool notified the other registrar that we had given notice as their computer system updates them and then we were sent out our pack for filling in our vow info from the registrars who will be doing the ceremony.
Not sure about the parent details though, sorry.0 -
I've just booked our appointment to give notice, but may end up having to rearrange. OH hasn't renewed his passport and isn't sure if his birth certificate is the full birth certificate or not (i.e. the one with parents details on). Also, we're being sent a form for our priest to fill in as we're getting married in the Catholic church. Not sure if he'll be a bit funny about filling this in so early as there are extra hoops to jump through as OH isn't Catholic.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

With regard to your fathers details on the certificate:
It can be:
Your natural father
Your adoptive father
or your step father providing he was married to you mother at one time.
So your step fathers details can go down or it can be left blank.

Hi all
Thought I would give you a report on what it was like today!
Well we gave notice and it was all very exciting!
We got in the registry office and the registrar came out and said that she would see us separately- me first.
So I went in and she put the details of the date, venue etc in to her computer- asked to see both of our ID- my driving licence, my birth certificate and my passport. My hubby to be’s passport, birth cerfiticate and his P60 (we had trouble finding something with his address on, as he doesn’t drive and is paper free from his bank, but the P60 was fine)
She then put his details on the computer- half looking at the documents and asking me- his name, DOB, address, occupation.also asked my dads name and occupation. they did ask my hubby2be this question- about his dad, but he doesn't know who he is, and this was fine.
Then I paid- £33.50 each.
Then she called him in and I waited outside. She asked him to confirm his name address etc and occupation and my details. And that was it.
The notice will be up in the office for 2 weeks, then they will send a letter to the registry office of the county where our venue is.
So it was all very exciting!- a little nervous, but more exciting than anything! Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!
