When my sister got married at the Reg office, the registrar entered the room first - but it was some minutes before my sister entered, followed by us BM's......the registrar should be in the room to greet the bride, so they will walk down the aisle first?? (just thinking that is maybe what they meant, rather than walking down the aisle immediately before the bride?!)
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

I liked it when they ask you if you are both related by blood....I mean....Do people really try and get married when they are related?:rotfl::rotfl:

Well, yes they do which is why they ask. ;) When you are pregnant the midwife asks the same.

We didn't get to see who will be marrying us, but I'm sure it would be OK to pop in and ask nearer the time ~ nobody wants an old dragon marrying them do they!

Or like another poor bride on here ~ her registrar was telling her that SHE (the reg that is) was going to walk in first??? to be followed by the bridesmaids and the bride.

    QUOTE]

When i marry people, i get everyone in the bridal party ready outside the ceremony room. I then walk in first and ask everyone to please stand for the entrance of the bride. Then when everyone is standing the bridal party come in.

Are you sure thats not what the registrar meant?

And we have no old dragons! But we don't actually know who will be conducting ceremonies until the day, We know when we are working but we could be registering the marriage or conducting the ceremony!

Just out of interest if you found out you were going to married by an old dragon what would you do?

I can't remember for the life of me who it was, but the bride was not happy with the registrar at all and it was as if it was the resgistrar wanted all the limelight on her ~ I'll have to search to find the post or thread because it will bug me now lol

I don't know if that's what the registrar meant, it wasn't me who posted about it.

I wouldn't be able to do anything if we were going to be married by a dragon because we don't know who we're going to get beforehand.

If we did know beforehand and didn't like the registrars attitude, I wouldn't hesitate in asking for someone else or if that wasn't allowed, I'd complain and tell her to make sure she had her happy helmet on, on the day ;)

My OH was outraged by this question lol. His reply was "well she's Indian and I'm white...do you think we're related"
The registrar gave him an evil look and repeated the question again, to which he had to begrudgingly reply "no". :rotfl:

errrrrr the post earlier that said they took mum&dad's marriage certificate??? I was told a few things but that wasn't mentioned - have no idea how I'd get hold of it. Is that essential?
Me and OH are both divorced so I know we have to take original proof of divorce absolute absolute but I thought we just showed papers - didn't realise there was an interview. Are they going to ask if we might actually get it right this time??? :rotfl::rotfl:

I think it depends where you are married and how old you are in regards to the info and interview. I'm in scotland and they don't do interviews, you only need a passport/alternative if you are born after 2003 i think it was.
