Can't see advertising bothers me, mine have never paid much attention to it. Although I wish they'd get rid of some of the really annoying ones on the kids, channels like the ones for the Dogs' Trust and Muzzy, which seem to be shown constantly.

I think the adverts are fantastic - my daughter is 5 and has a few polly pockets my sister gave her from when she was little, she saw the adverts wanted them, we agreed a price for a tidy bedroom and now she is on her way to saving for them and I no longer have to tidy her room. At £1 a week she might have saved enough by christmas for one lol its win win imo.

Either watch it with her, & change channels during the ads, or record it & fast forward or delete out the ads. Our machine has a skip button for ads. :T

And for the cbeebies birthday cards, if like me you are too lazy to actually make a card & remember to send it in on time, you can do one on their website which is emailed to the birthday boy/girl. You choose the presenter, character, age etc.

Turn it off then. If she's not even watching it then switch it off and let her play with her toys. Your house will be a Polly Pocket free zone.
    Agree.

Got in from work and she was watching some kids rubbish, and not replying to anything I said, in between backchatting her mum. Waited for the programme to finish (to avoid an argument), got down on the floor with pen and paper, and my little angel had returned within minutes.

I avoid all kids TV now, especially as much is only on in the background for the sake of it, but you get tears for turning it off. The only time I switch it on is if I'm going for a bath and need a babysitter.

She will never be this age again, and I don't want her growing up into a TV cabbage. Make the most of every moment and play with your children.

Lets face it, most of the programmes are adverts for merchandising. Tried to buy a jacket from Mothercare and nearly all were TV characters of some kind. Wasn't entirely happy with the one we chose, but the non advertising range was very limited.

On the subject of Cbeebies birthday cards. I know a couple of people that haven't had cards shown.

I don't think I would want to go to the effort of doing a card and then be disappointed if it wasn't shown.

One of the twins (I forgot which one, bad mum or what ) Shouted

'BANG! and the dirt is gone!'

From a trolley in Tesco :rotfl: I was quite mortified :o

Try ebay for Polly pockets, my mum's next door neighbour's daughter grew out of hers (well she is 18) and did very well out of them!

My brother also sold a job lot of Pokemon cards and got £106  He said he would have got three times as much if he'd had the time to list them one by one, and tellingly it was a dealer who bought them.
