I would like to report the broken scanners in most of my local stores, but can't find an email address on the tesco.com website to use. Does anybody have any ideas, or do I have to phone up? TIA :)

You may be better phoning the individual stores(use Saynoto0870)...as they might think something odd if you email them with half a dozen store names

After all the !!!!!! I took on this site saying I would ruin it for others I am really glad that I stuck to my guns! To be honest though, if I wasn't greeted with such an attitude from the manager I would have given up, it was the attitude of the manager that made me take it so far.
All they have to do is be polite. He was rude and walked away from me and refused to listen.
One difference, I walked away with £230 in my pocket and an Xbox!

Just how I feel at the moment - If the store manager I dealt with hadn't been so rude I'd probably just chalk it up to experience and move on.

As it is I want a little payback!
  • Been here a couple of times and had to 'argue' for ages about my rights to R&R . Won't be going there again....too much like hard work!! Hartlepool's good if you can get there

Just bought a Nokia 6020, had an expired SEL in front (expiry date in very small writing !) priced at 64.99 went through at 72.98, went to CS and said that could we check the price? as it i'm sure it was marked up at £64, she said " I doubt it, as they are always spot on with the phones".

We located the phone and the offending SEL, she said the offer had expired, but offered to refund the difference or give me my money back, I reminded her of the r&r policy and she said that "it doesn't apply to electrical goods" I said the big blue sign doesn't say that and asked to speak to a manager. An assistant Section Manager duly arrived and refused to give an r&r "as the label clearly stated that the offer had expired" I did say to her that price labels should be clear and unambiguous and told her how small the writing of expiry date was on the label.

I stood my ground and refused a refund, stated that I would contact trading standards and HO, she then phoned HO for guidance but got no answer (approx 9.15 tonight), she took my name and number and said she would call me tomorrow after she had spoken to HO.

    Any advice appreciated
  • Hi again, I posed this question earlier but think it has got lost with all the Xbox dilemmas, so I will try again, what happens when the store is test shopped and the test shopper is overcharged and is refused an R+R? I know a lot of stores get a heads up when the test shopper is around ( at least mine does ), but how do they know that you or I are not a test shopper, or do Tesco's not take part in these schemes. Even worse for them would be an off or on for that matter trading standards employee being overcharged and also receiving a no on the R+R and perhaps also bullied in the way some of you on here seem to have been.
I bet Head Office would be very unhappy in these circumstances.
  • :T Just got some vegetable knives - half price - but charged full price - full R&R given.....no longer an R&R virgin. :A :j

Stand your ground and phone HO yourself in the morning, they are talking complete rubbish and are trying to fob you off
  • Meat Manager's department. If he allows the refund, he gets the stick for the pricing not being correct. That's why he'll argue it. Same with electrical managers who will argue till they are blue in the face rather than give you an an xbox 360 for free, as it's their department and responsibility lies with them. They know the policy. They are just trying to save their own !!!!s.
Went to Exe Vale today, got refund there last week or so on some meat, was asked for name & address as refund over £10.00. (only about £11.00). Went today, bought some other stuff, plus 2 packets stewing beef, wrong SEL. When I went to customer services, first the SA went and looked and tried to say it was different meat - it wasn't, I argued, she called meat manager. He checked labels and agreed right away it was wrong - but they then tried to say I had to give name and address as it was over £5.00!!! Plus he photocopied receipt. Remembering previous post re this I asked what was their data protection policy, which confused them, so I politely declined to give details. I can only dread to think of the grief they would give on an expensive item - anyone else had similar?

Posts 154 and 155 - both myself and redcar responded. I try and filter out the 360 stuff now ;)
