Except apparently due to unforeseen circumstances mobiles.c.uk isn't open today. Bizarre!!!
Hi Peeps,
Who told you they have had to close for the day ???
If it's true then it would be quite worrying as to reasons why !
If they are closed then you will not get it sorted for Thursdaypeeppeep94 wrote: »I really needed to get this sorted to have the phone for Thursday
If you read some of the threads one of the major problems with them is communication problems and if they are closed who would answer the phone ????peeppeep94 wrote: »Unless anyone knows a secret number for a mobiles.co.uk person? Someone that has fairy godmother qualities
As far as I'm aware to qualify for the quidco cashback the order has to be completed online so as you are unable to do that it probably wouldn't pay out even if you managed to get it sorted over the phone.peeppeep94 wrote: »I also used quidco to try the £50 cashback.... so going through three direct really isnt going to workIt's not just about the money0 -

That's right and along the lines I was thinking.........were they trying to complete on the phone to renege on the cashback??
E2save (CPW) have been attempting this of late, is this another issue to look out for??
I would just re-do after clearing cookies.

Mobiles.co.uk are open today, I have spoken to one of their customer services advisors already. As far as I am aware Mobiles.co.uk will still pay out on quidco even if the order is completed over the phone.0

Thats the problem with this lot you have to be so very very careful not to give them a reason for not paying !
Trouble for the OP with re-doing is would he still fail the credit check ????fergieforever wrote: »As far as I am aware Mobiles.co.uk will still pay out on quidco even if the order is completed over the phone.
Hi fergie,
Welcome to the forum
Going off your posts today you seem an avid phone buyer or do you work in the industry ???
The problem with Quidco and cashback is that one of the terms for obtaining cashback without problems is that and I quote from the site ........The reasons why a retailer could decline your cashback are:
The purchase was not completed wholly online
Now even if you may have obtained cashback over the phone does not mean the next person will and with mobiles.co.uk's history it is just giving them another reason not to pay. It's not just about the money0 -

Seems strange why they were declined:Reason given was apparantly i had requested to pay by cash.
That's why I would just re-do.
Regarding getting cashback for contracts completed over the phone, I was informed once they could do this if using the original order number, but not a gamble I would take.
Perhaps fergieforever will underwrite any failures.
Just kidding and welcome.

thing is if i redo , i'm worried i will be declined. By looking at forums I'm got the impression you have to wait 3 months before applying to a network aagain.
20 mins waiting for mobiles.co.uk to answer phone at 3.40 and then gave up.0 -

Peep....... I have had the odd wrangle with Silk and MobileJunkie over this company. They will say that I have defended the company in the past. I won't argue that point now and I did, a few months ago, actually help a youngster place an order with them and the first cashback has been accepted.
However, following recent posts about them declining a number of valid cashbacks, I would strongly advise you to see if you could get a similar deal elsewhere until they have rebuilt their reputation.
Saving £2 per month over a rival deal is no use at all if the cashback isn't paid.
Try contacting customer services BEFORE you buy - not sales, customer services. Because sure as eggs is eggs, if you can't contact them BEFORE, you ain't going to get them AFTER you buy.
It's your decision, but read the threads. You have been warned.0 -

20 mins is lightweight stuff ...you can be on the phone to them for hours and hours and hours :rotfl:

Well now, an interesting set of comments as usual!
1) I believe that provided the original order number is still used the Quidco cashback would be paid.
2) I still order from them - have done this week as a matter of fact. Nothing has changed; if you know what you're doing, do it, can prove it and force them to pay should they require it cashback isn't a problem. The problems occur when people don't really know what they're doing, haven't followed the groundrules and allow this company to try it on. SO - IF you do you're one of the few who really do their homework, know what you're doing and cover yourself every step of the way it should be ok. If you're one of the many who think all you have to do is follow what they say and submit your claims in time think agian; you may well have problems as many have and are still finding.
Maybe not what GD was expecting, but nothing has changed with this (or other!) cpw dealers. ALL cashback deals leave no room for complacency but there aren't too many games in town right now and (I repeat) they should at least be there to sue (if anyone is!). I am alwys ready and willing to sue if needbe - and I think they know that very well by now, so any attempted grief is quickly and rather brutally put to bed!0
