Declined by three via mobiles.co.uk

I applied for a lovely three deal via mobiles.co.uk

I've received an email from mobiles.co.uk stating that I was declined by three.

Contacted mobiles to check who declined and they said three at credit check.
(Spent 15 mins just waiting for them to answer!!)

Phoned three who have no record of a credit check.

Phoned mobiles who said their credit department was closed (only open 9-5)

Credit cards, bank accounts and mortgage are all fine so I find this bizarre.

Anyone had similar? How did you resolve it? Are there particular departments I need to ask for?

My current contract is already part way through cancellation so i need to sort this fast.

HELP PLEASE!!

You'll never find out exactly why you were declined, if they did the scoring process would be less effective.

Have you changed any significant detail in the past few months or applied for a lot of credit elsewhere? You can try asking to talk to Threes credit department but I suspect you'll get passed around a lot and ultimatly not really found out why you were declined.

Usually if they refuse you they'll only take you on if you pay a refundable deposit (£150 as a rule).

A network can refuse you for all kinds of reasons and they don't have to give a reason (they don't have to give you acc if they don't want to).

The dept to ask for is credit referrals.

Were you offered another contract on the phone??
There may be a dubious reason for this??

You could try taking out the 28-day free trial with Experian (www.creditexpert.co.uk). You might get a clue there as to why you've been declined. Don't forget to cancel before the free period is up, though, or you'll be charged £7.95 a month.

wow i hadnt expected to get so many replies.....

ok well i've checked experian and everything looks fine there.

report shows was searched by hutchingson 3g (turns out to be three mobiles after al)

so sales guy at three either didn't check or lied, and by the way he did proceed with a hard sell himself.

what really gets my goat is three have been calling me for months now trying to get me to go with them (more so than my current provider tmobile)

i was a previous three customer, so if they don't want to give me an account why call?!!

Thanks, I meant did mobiles.co.uk offer you another contract over the phone, I should have been more clear - still coffee time.
I'm just interested if there is some sort of trend developing (sinister me). :D

Not that I remember. Though they did say that if I didn't get a result with three then the next best deal was vodafone in terms of what i was looking for.

    Update

I contacted three- lovely lady/ girl called Louise was extremely helpful.Located and confirmed my application had been received and declined

she contacted there credit dept to review. Reason given was apparantly i had requested to pay by cash. Bizarre as i remember putting bank account details in for DD.

So as long as i prepared to pay by DD i would be accepted but need to reprocess application.

Now there is a new issue.... they can't offer same deal as mobile.co.uk. No cashback and more expensive.
    Deal from mobiles.co.uk :
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro on 3 1 £0.00
    Internet Texter 300 @ £20.00/month
    24-month contract
    Gadget Phone Support - £2.99/month 1
    PhoneCare Insurance - Band B - £7.99 1
    £25 Auto Cashback 1 £0.00

So i have to go back to mobiles to see if they can sort with three's credit dept.

Except apparently due to unforeseen circumstances mobiles.c.uk isn't open today. Bizarre!!!

I really needed to get this sorted to have the phone for Thursday.

Unless anyone knows a secret number for a mobiles.co.uk person? Someone that has fairy godmother qualities.

I also used quidco to try the £50 cashback.... so going through three direct really isnt going to work.
