Spent £38 on a pair of walking sandals reduced from £74 for my summer holiday. £38/£250 for clothing budget for the year. Wanted to get them while it was out of season as really can't justify £74 on a pair anymore no matter how much I liked them!

Just need to talk myself out of the tianna b dress on qvc tomorrow. Need to try really hard not to get this - and try and go for a NSD - being a uni this week has scuppered this quite a bit and I want to get a few bits today instead of this weekend leaving it to study study study!

Can't wait for work to finish today then I can crack on with some revision for my exam next week

In fact I can't wait for the end of the month and have a week off from studying and recharge a bit!

Just worked out that I currently spend £400-£500 on loan and CC min repayments per month

    This has to change!

I can't wait until the card balances come down and then closed down. Just have to tick off the loan payment month by month

Checked my balance and have paid off £148 on the Bank CC this month will stick to this plan and see how far I get paying this card off, feels manageable at the moment. Looks like I can do this one in a year plus any other money I can throw at it during this time.

    Jan £1972 - £148
    Feb £1824 + 21.9 %APR for all
    Mar £1676
    Apr £1528
    May £1380
    June £1232
    July £1084
    Aug £936
    Sept £788
    Oct £640
    Nov £492
    Dec £344
    Jan £196
    Feb £48

Then onto the next one :D

Managed to not cave in to the Tianna B dress thankfully and saved £40 and didn't eat any more into the clothing budget -

    Other titbits

£2, 50p and 20p into pots of change
Have £86 left in grocery challenge until 28th Jan
Refunds from amazon have been credited into my a/c of £213 and £47 from QVC. Will ring QVC and see when the last EZ payments are taken out and then close down my a/c with them

Ooh that's good, thats the first time I've really thought about doing that for real

Had some interest in the exercise machines up for sale but none have gone yet - if they do the money will either go onto the CC or into the hol fund for June

    Jan have paid off £100 + £273.98 + £61.49 + £48.87 + £71.12 = £555.46 (£100 is a CC overpayment)

  • Great to see you still doing well FedUp... I remember how much of an issue the toiletries and home shopping channels were for you!
Have you thought about setting up a new 100 day challenge? I expect there will be some newbies interested...?

    Following your diary with interest...

Right then have checked the QVC EZ payments

Last ones are due out on 6/3 - let me see if I can manage to not buy anything from them until then and have a month from there with no money going to them

Will take this month by month

Making the CC payment today has really given me some food for thought about how much of my salary is going on debt minimum payments let alone higher payments

Time to change and this is the area of my spending that needs addressing further

Although its better than it was a couple of years ago it needs to get more under control so off I go on another journey of change and happily so :D

    Hi Sarah

Nice to see you on here, the toiletries issue is is more or less under control and my bathroom looks much more normal now and it makes me very happy to see it like this instead of items falling out of everywhere! Plus I got rid of my 2nd storage unit in the bathroom as it wasn't needed anymore - RESULT! Plus before christmas I had exczema tests that found a reaction to something thats found in a lot of shower gels, meaning I can't buy from QVC unless I know for sure what's in it

QVC was under control for a lot of last year then crept up a bit again so off I go again addressing this for good now. Then most of spending behaviour is controlled - good grief that feels good to say that - wasn't sure if I would ever reach this point at times!

Anyway, hoping to pick up with the PAD thread and start to make some small payments to the other CC for now and concentrate on paying off one with larger payments

Good idea with the 100 day challenge - the ongoing one only has a couple of regular posters on there - do you want to rejoin if I set one up?

For me make up, toiletries, QVC, books - QVC and toiletries the most tempting ones

  • I'd definitely join up again, my toiletries have started to creep up again! Its the same as before, just stock piling while they're on offer... and I got a fair bit for Christmas too, so I need to work on getting it down again!

Got some good news by getting a good pass on my first assignment yesterday and have done some revision the last 2 days for the exam on Thursday. Feel more confident now about my next assignment due in on Mon and now need to do a lot more tomorrow to prep for Thurs

Looking forward to getting this over and done with and then crack on with the assignment and submit on Sunday and then have a few days with no study! Looking forward to tidying the house and garden up instead of thinking about it and not srudying when I should be!
