Thank god I have a day off tomorrow. Difficult day at work today and really looking forward to a rest and no rush hour driving tomorrow.

Celebrating with a gin and tonic to recover and chocolate and I don't care a jot

Back to normal tomorrow and will be walking for exercise

    NSD 9 today

Decided I will go for another 5lb weight loss and try my hardest to get to 10st. I've gone form 11st 10lb to 10st 5lb and I've made the decision to go for a little lower and go for 3lb less than my final target

If I can get from there to here I can get to there. I can do it and I will do it. So off I go towards my new target and I'm off to adjust it on my marvellous diet plan that has helped me get there

Day off tomorrow and this will be filled with quite a lot of walking and maybe, just maybe a run!

  • Glad to hear you are so close to the end of your weight loss journey. I am currently carrying about 6/7 lb over what I set as my goal weight, but that is realistically 7lb higher than I would like to be in an ideal world so a stone needs to be gone :o What diet do you follow? I was a weight watchers person but in an effort to save money, I have been using the my fitness pal app. I would really love to be able to run, but a) I can't run for toffee, I am so unfit and b) I have dodgy joints so have to be careful. I think it would be achievable if I built it up slowly as with my dog walking, it used to hurt sometimes after an hours walk but now that is fine. What dog do you have? We have two - I love the fresh air from walking the dog - I think it helps my mental health to get a good dog walk in per day :D

I haven't been camping, but we go caravanning (well we did, the van is currently up for sale :o) and I love it, I will really miss it when it sells - unfortunately Mr Itsa won't do tents. The dogs love it, I think the biggest novelty is that they get to sleep by the bed (which they are not allowed to at home) and when you are lay down, your head is at dog snogs height in the middle of the night (YUK!).

  • Hi there itsa, I've been following Sainsbugs Diets from May this year and its worked a treat. I'm happily running 3 or 4 times a week for most weeks. Not so much for the last few weeks due to a lingering cold/virus but feel a lot better now and planning on 2 runs this weekend to notch up the intervals and keep on running!

I too love walking in the fresh air with my dog who is a very happy little chappy indeed and he too loves running about in the mud and puddles

  • Doing pretty well today so far have got quite a lot done

2 lots of washing on the line blowing away
    Bathroom floor swept and mopped
    LR cleaned and sparkly
    Sofa throw washed and dried
    Bins emptied

Next is BR cleaning and bedding changeover

Nice to have the windows open to let some fresh air in too as its a nice bright and breezy day today

Alarm all sorted out now and very happy about that and just waiting for the new meter to be fitted then off out with Mr Dog for a nice long walk this afternoon. No doubt he will need a bath when we get back so will leave the bathroom until later on! Must remember to put a loaf onto bake too for next week and dig out some sandwich stuff from somewhere too

Also managed to put a few more things into the cellar to clear under the stairs area some more

    Saturday plan
Shopping - bare minimum for next week
    Run
    Clean garden furniture and move
Sweep up leaves ready for recycling
    Tidy up garden
    Wash pet bedding and towels
Clean kitchen and sweep and mop floor
    Studying and stew making
    Long dog walk
    Soup making

    Sunday
    Run
    Study
    Long dog walk in afternoon
    Washing
    Ironing

Looks like I might get a NSD in today too as I try and delay shopping until tomorrow - lets hope the milk stays ok until then!

Don't think there's much chance of gardening tomorrow after watching the weather forcast - delayed now for Sunday instead.

Loaf is baking in the BM

Sunshine and wind has been replaced by very grey skies and lots of rain so bedding in TD now to finish off - shouldn't take too long hopefully.

Bedroom is cleaned, whole house is hoovered, new gas meter has been fitted and replacement items have been delivered and all stored away safely. Cellar is almost cleared out now which is a big tick from my list. Something i've been on about doing for a long long time. funny how when something happens, it gives you a kick up the backside to get things sorted out. That has been today - sort out those long standing jobs that get put off forever.

Pleased with how much has been done today. Would be good to not work Fridays at all and catch up with everything then. One day eh?

Anyway just braving going for a long walk with the dog in this highly changeable weather in a little while! Then can get tucked up inside in the warm again.

Today has been a NSD 10/15

Wow it was brrrr chilly out there this afternoon. Lovely walk though at dusk watching the starlings do their thing - en masse like a swarm of bees. Enjoyed seeing them just outside the city centre too with on a couple of people and dogs watching them. No run today, really didn't feel like it today and I think the weather will be too windy tomorrow. Will see how it is first thing and then decide. If I don't run I'll walk up into town and make up for it that way instead.

Tea was rater delish too, my loaf came out very odd looking for some reason - must have mixed up the ingredients some how when I put it on to bake, not sure

Anyway linguine with anchovies tonight and it was gorgeous.Way nicer than I expected, must have more faith! Good way to use up the jar of anchovies in the fridge that was pretty way over OOD. So another long term food item gone. Only now I think I'll buy another jar as it was so nice and a really enjoyable pasta meal and I have plenty of pasta stocked up!

Lots of rejigging for tomorrow's list I think so a combo of Sat and Sunday will go on. Looking forward to nice stew tomorrow for tea though, yummy!

  • Do you still call yourself sparkles?

Are the sainsburys diet plans normalish food? I have found with previous faddy diets I have tried, they are foods that I don't normally eat with portion sizes that are completely unrealistic. I was looking at the Ducan diet the other day and don't know how you would eat nothing but proteins for the first week.

When I took the pooches out earlier, it was just starting to rain - I quite like it when it is like this as generally I can put my headphones in and pull my hood up and don't see a soul. Do you have nice places to walk the dog where you live, I am very lucky as I live in a village surrounded by countryside and so walking land is a plenty. I can walk for miles and miles, but only as long as I have my ipod otherwise I get bored :o

It would be lovely to have Friday's off - if I had more hours in the day, I am sure I would have a lovely tidy house :o

Certainly do get called sparkles - would have had this as my name if I had thought about it when I joined here!

Sainsbugs diets is normal food. I have done plenty of fad diets in the past that worked for a month or so then didn't work at all as I got bored with them. This one you can use either a food diary to record what you eat and aim to stick to you kcal allowance for the day OR you can choose a meal plan that suits you. They seem to be full of normal food too - you can choose whether you make food or prefer to buy it and heat it up, entirely up to you. This is the one that has worked a treat for me and has been the most successful because it has made me be more active, eat more fruit and veg and salad and stick to these eating diet changes so it no longer feels like a diet but how I eat. Plus there is always space for some choccie and treats too.

Just watching an old marilyn monroe film now from the hard drive recorder

  • It sounds quite like the my fitness pal app, I have been tracking all of the food that I eat using this, but I don't think it has meal plans. I think I am going to download the couch to 5k app for £1.99 as it has really good reviews and I need to start somewhere.
