Sandra, can you use computers at the library until you can get one of your own? How are you managing for computer time now? And it may be worth asking on Freecycle, gumtree etc. for a computer or at least all the add-ons.
    Sending you hugs. :grouphug:

have looked into thelibrary internet access already. the queue waiting is always ages long so getting my own is a must. this morning a friend has said i can have hers; she has only had it about a year then bought another. all i have to do is pay for all their data to be put onto a disc, cos none of us know how to do it. little shop near me charges 20 to do it. then i will have a computer. computer time now is only when i am at my daughters and i use hers. the rest of the time i do without. and that is something i cant do anymore.

    What a lovely friend!
I can't help with Skype as it was set up here by the techies in the family, but I'm sure someone will let you know. The quality of sound is superb.

Oh sorry don't know about skype through an internet dongle.

Here's there website, have a little look at it, it does say you can get it for the i-phone so I would think that you can do it through a mobile dongle.

Skype works on a dongle, or if your in a wii fi area somewhere. i.e. mcdonalds have it. (But I dont go there, I just know my kids have).
My parents have Skype, and they are touring France! So we see them sitting in their caravan, and they see us and DGD waves to them and talks away to them. So they dont miss on her growing up, while they are away, 3 months of the year at a time!.
Good luck, and its free, if your skyping from one skype person to another. You can also put credit on it, and use it like a normal telephone, and also can messanger someone who is on line. I do that to my daughter who has skype at work, but not allowed to use the video part of it for personal use.

I just wish I could get my family to have it on thier laptops and then I would be able to chat to them as well. Although we use messanger when we are on line together.
Good luck with the new computer. What a lovely friend you have.
    See there are positives.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
