  • looks like a grounding problem just like the iphone 4.

looks like samsung tried too hard to copy the iphones characteristics  :rotfl:

on a serious note, the galaxy s comes in different versions. does the uk version come with the metal rim?? grounding might be a problem with metal bits. some versions of the galaxy s in usa come in a plastic body, i doubt those versions will be affected by grounding probs like this. i dont know where the antenna is located for this handset.

The rim is plastic on uk models....edit, the antenna is at the bottom on the galaxy s.

you buy a phone through a reseller and get a tmobile contract which states tmobile terms and conditions which are standard and available on website. as far as i know, their t&c just states that 3gb for android handsets. the tmobile t&c as far as i know does not have separate sections for buying through reseller and buying direct. if they refuse to give 3gb then print out their own terms and conditions and quote the conditions and state why the T&C of contract is being violated by them! if they refuse to give 3gb then ask them since you are using an android phone, as per their T&C you are entitled to 3gb, and ask them to state the specific T&C in contract mentioning 1gb for android phone. they will have to give in after that. speak to a manager if lower level person cant sort it out.

i had read their t&c 2m ago, dont know if things have changed since then though in their t&c

I got mine via Buymobilephones.net, came with internet as a 1GB booster - went into my local T-Mobile shop today to see if they could sort out the 3GB internet and change the booster.

The staff member agreed that it wasn't right that I wasn't on the Web & Walk package with free extra booster but said she couldn't make any changes to it as I bought online so would have to call 150 - so I waited to speak to the manager who was busy selling someone a new contract (about 15mins).

I explained to him and he said its right that they shouldn't make any changes in store (if bought online) but as I'd been waiting so long he'd sort it out - couple of mins later it was all done. Now if I text 'AL' to 150 it states *Unlimited Internet on your phone.

My sister also got hers changed in a different store but with less trouble - she started of with "Am I right that all Android phones come with 3GB internet and free booster?" answer of course was "yes" so she was like "I've got a HTC Desire but mine doesn't seem to have that setup - can you correct it for me" they asked where she bought it but then changed it no problems.

Give it a try, depending on who you get it could be fairly straight forward - they can definately do it instore!

ok guys i just got a galaxy S from:

    buymobilephones.net

£30/month,18 months, free phone, £30 auto cashback, £30 top cashback
600 mins, 500 txts, unlimited internet.

phoned up t-mobile saying i had a galaxy S and "I wanted to see if the account was set up correct" (because it was only showing internet not a extra booster) and they sayed i didnt need the internet booster because it was included with the phone type and i could choose another booster (got unlimted landlines). went into a store first of all but they said they couldnt change it because it was done online.

the rep in the t-mobile shop also sayed the internet was 3GB but also there were no-run over charges if i exceeded this because of the phone i had (probably not gunna test that though LOL).

    TCO = £30 X 18 - £30 =£510
    - £30 TCB = £490 monthly cost(with cashback =£27.222222222222222) lol
    (£28.333 without TCB)
I didnt mention at anytime that i got it from a reseller, but the girl on the phone (150 from my phone) never asked where i bought it (it seems she couldnt tell from her end).

    Hope this helps guys :D

Looks like this phone can drop its signal at the touch of a finger:

I'd assume there wont be as much fuss as with the iPhone, given the lower media profile of generic Android phones. Still worth considering though, although it probably won't be an issue in real world use, just as the iPhone issue doesn't affect me no matter how hard I try.

for petes sake!!! who actually holds a phone like that??????

no one unless they are trying something very weird. If you try hard enough, you can break anything.

if you hold it normally you have ZERO issues.
