Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tues 20thJuly. 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine

Morning all,

Late start today, where is everybody, hope you are all having a good rest.

Looks like it will be a nice day again, I only have a small amount of washing, so will go on the hunt for a bit more. I am doing my at home job this morning which should take me 3 - 4 hours, and then I will need to do their banking.

I also need to hoover through, I chipped most of the paint off of the ceiling yesterday, but was shattered when I finished, so did not hover :o, its all been trodden through. I also need to get out in the garden for 1/2 hour and tidy up.

Dinner tonight will be a lamb breast that I had in the freezer, might do them a few roast spuds with theirs, I will just have the veg.

Little dog has the vet tonight with her on going bottom problem, the vet was going to get us more info regarding the operartion she may have to have, I dread the thought of her going in, but she may have to.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

Morning Redruby & all to follow.

Didn't get on here yesterday as had to go out first thing for work. Hope everyone is ok ((((hugs)))) if not.

Very humid here yesterday hope it is a little fresher today. Have to take DD to the Orthodontist in the middle of the day, right pain as it is 45 minutes each way and we often have to wait a while. Will get office work done before we leave and housework (it its not too hot) this afternoon.

While out will pick up some nice ham for a salad as don't fancy anything too heavy today.

DS had boxing last night & I had to kill some time in Chelmsford so I went into tesco home, had a look around the sale and bought another couple of bits for Xmas, then went into normal Tesco's & did the weeks shopping. Can't do it online at the moment as have a £9off voucher which can only be used in store. Luckily they have given me another one for next week too :j

Remaining organised on the ironing front :Tjust have a couple of bits to do that dried yesterday.

Proper OS today - will be cleaning my sinks with vinegar, running the wm empty with some soda crystals and removing eyeliner from DD's new wallpaper :o

    Have a great day.x

Hope it goes ok at the vets Redruby.x

Off to work here soon, only 3 more days after today. Can't wait to finish & get some sorting out & cleaning done.
I've been up since 4 & was in the shower at 4.30, hubby went to work on the early train with his pack up, ham sandwiches, ham egg & new pots (from the garden) for tea tonight, he'd live on ham given the chance.
Hope your dog is ok, RR.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Dry and very overcast here, but wind has dropped and it's really muggy and warm.

Now in "getting ready for holiday mode", grass cut and garden tidied by OH and boys last night, keeping on top of the washing but need to do the ironing - OH has a meeting tonight so I may do it later, when it's a bit cooler.

Dinner last night was roast chicken breasts, mashed potato, sweetheart cabbage, carrots, green beans (home grown), broccolli and gravy. Tonight's dinner will be quick and easy as eldest going to Army Cadets.

Having a haircut on Thursday morning and have grown my hair a bit longer than normal and have now decided to have it cut short again, I can't manage it as it's so thick with the hot weather I'm getting too hot!

Time to get ready for work.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Got my test results backlast night - not sure i'm any further forward but I think rheumatoid arthritis is off the list which is good and I don't think I fit the description for fibromyalgia and I told the doctor that regardless of what it is its affecting daily life and I need it sorting. He's given me a new pill to try at bedtime in the hope that if I'm better rested it might ease the pain. I'll try anything!

Supposed to be at work today but I've got some problems with DS2 and he's really not well so I want to stay close to home with him. DS1 is off work and has gone to do DS2's job to keep it open for him....he's hoping they won't notice and as he's working with a friend of theirs he will be able to keep him right.

It's their 18th birthday tomorrow and I'm just hoping he will pick up and I can keep DS2 out of hospital for it. All crossed fingers and prayers this way please!

Not sure what's on today - haven't really slept so will try and catch 40 winks while the kids watch TV. I've sent DH up to bed as he was up until after 5 too. No point us all being shattered.

    Have a good day x

Its a tad overcast here but warm so not complaining. DD2 was on really good form this am and not only did she take care with her hair(miracle) she smiled and kssed me goodbye. Massive hugs to her.

DD1 had to dress as a cowboy they are raising money for a local girl to go to USA for surgery. cute.

Although I am off to work I appear to ahead of myself. Last tues ever that I have to return home and collect DD3 after work and then drive back again. Come Sept we can meet in town and then go to Swimming and no cycling on Sat am so I get a lie in. yeh. Infact this is the last taxi run for six ish weeks:T

Had a nice suprise last night DD1 asked to cook dinner , yummy big hugs to her. We have decided a rota of two smallish Flylady type jobs that they can do each day on a rota I think that they all understand that we aall need to chip in with house jobs but in practice we shall see.

My beloved ironing is half done I couldnt physically stand anymore havnt recovered from sat night. Slept like a log last night so back on track. Spoke to DH he was nearly in Zurick and thinks the job has changed so might be home sooner. Big hugs to him.

I think we are all ready for some holidays sleeping in and not having a timetable. I am lookng forward to my two weeks in August we might go camping but it will be a last minute booking.
    Must have breakfast now
    big hugs to all
    xx

Jc - sorry to hear you're in so much pain - hope that the new tablets work. Morning everyone else - and all who follow! Reasonably sunny morning here this morning, so I have to get on with the work that OH didn't do at the weekend - grrrr. Lawnmower broke at weekend and can't be repaired - so I bought another from ebay - picking it up this morning so will get the grass cut. I did the edges yesterday so it will then all be finished. Also picking up an old school desk for DS1 to have in his bedroom today - another ebay purchase. Having fish from the freezer for dinner tonight - will mix with a home made pasta sauce too.

Went to a Pampered Chef night last night - my first - and I'm converted. I think that I could do this, so after our move I'm going to see what the opportunitues are like.... and how much it will undoubtedly cost! I might be the next Richard Branson - you never know!!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning All :hello:,

JC - sorry to hear about your DS2 and that you're suffering. Hope it all gets better soon xx
Anyone heard from MSD? Just wondering how she's getting on. Come back soon Diva, we miss you xx

Still insanely busy with work, but managing to keep on track. Had the salmon that I planned last night but the roasted veg was popular with DH that I didn't have any left over  So we've got leftover potato salad and a green salad for our lunches.

Tea tonight is a DH affair, as I won't be in until even later than last night, so will most likely be either egg and chips, or pizza and salad.

Hope everyone is ok, hugs to all xx
