i have an 80kg+ safe sitting in a transit.
Any good ideas on ways to get it out of transit and on the deck?
I intend to get 2 joist and some roll bars and roll it down. And the misus and i will do it.(misus is 8st and 5.3ft hope she does not get squashed)
I have no pals so cannot lift it.(prefer too do things myself, i have got pals LOL)

floor ....i could put on a pallet , by lifting up side at a time.
i have not got a forklift lol , but have got a pallet truck.
Its alot of weight to stop it rolling down too fast.
I once moved one on joists and rollers up a flight of stairs with my 2 older boys (13/14 year olds) unfortunatly we could not hold it LOL it trapped me against a wall by my legs and wife said i was a funny shade of grey when she got there. she had to prize the safe off me with a wooden batten i was real scared and queezy LOL (you live and learn , hopefully). And this one is heavier.0 -
*am desperately hoping that someone has a good idea re this problem*
His plan at the moment is to roll the 80kg safe down two planks on rollers....with me at the bottom to stop/catch it. The safe weigs 10x what I do so I can not see this ending well!! I forsee a trip to casualty unless someone can come up with a better suggestion:shocked:0 -

Hi,
get yourself down to the pub, buy a round and get some helpers before somebody gets injured.0 -
Use joists and rollers.
Get a tow rope and secure it around the safe...Then thread it through one of the load securing hoops in the back of the transit behind the safe. You might want to loop it a couple of times around the loop, or thread it through a couple of the hoops, or both...
Then, use the rope to slowly lower the safe down the ramp onto the pallet truck.
I would not put your missus in the way of the safe, since you can always get another safe should the worst happen.

LOL thats the easy route
Last time when i moved the one up the stairs. Thats were i sent the missus, she brought back a rugby player think she just grabbed the biggest blokes she could. told her "to get herself too the pub and get herself a man" lol
Am also scottish you ever seen a scotsman buy a round lol0 -
shifted a big chunk of slate down 3f't once by using an aluminium ladder as a ramp, made sure everyone stayed "topside" of it though ;o), loads of ways you can do it, few of them safe!!0

Was never more embarrassed than when I had to run into the pub shouting "quick I need a couple of big men!":o0
