The girl on the phone never said anything about this, and we mentioned the promotion a couple of times. I've even just posted off my cheque mentioning it again in the cover letter.
Oh well, yet another bank will be getting a complaint off me then! But this time I don't think it will be upheld. Idiots.0 -
Don't suppose it matters, I wanted a new account anyway.0

Hi folks,
Sadly, ING have told us that they won't be paying out the £20 unless applicants fulfil all criteria, which include having been sent the offer directly.
We have written a news article on this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/new...ut-on-20-bonus

Before everyone gets too despondent this is NOT the first time ING have stated that a promotional offer Is only for the household which received the leaflet/E-mail drop.
I opened an ING account a couple of years ago along with dozens of others after finding that offer here on MSE. That promotion was also for intended recipients only apparently.
I got my £50 (more back then) just as many others here did !0 -
I openend an account, 2.75% for an savings account that permits withdrawals is not so bad. However, I have not click the box that I wanna regularly save. I hope it is still possible that I transfer from time to time via direct debit into this account so that I get some interest?
Many thanks,

It doesn't matter too much, it's nice to have a savings account that's not with my bank.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

You have to link it to a current account, then you can set up a standing order to fund the ING account if you wish, or make one off payments into it. Withdrawals will go into the linked account.I openend an account, 2.75% for an savings account that permits withdrawals is not so bad. However, I have not click the box that I wanna regularly save. Excellent, this is what I wanted to know. Probably I am trying to save up to this £5000 before I put it then into a proper tax free ISA before end of the tax year.0 -
Why is it good, when their are 2 others paying 2.8%?0
-
And ING told me 2.75% was the minimum it would be for 12 months (although Martin said it was a 2.25% bonus - still meaning a minimum of 2.25% for a year).
And some people may have maxed out the FSCS protection with the AA.
And it's good to have competition otherwise AA would withdraw their rate and re-launch it lower.0
