Made 3 separate 'collect in store' orders last night at circa 10:30 and received immediate confirmation emails for them all. Did it as quickly as poss (hence 3 x seps) to stop things going out of baskets.

Have always found M&S very reliable and exceptionally honourable (I was a benefactor in the M&S Xmas Online glitch) and would have no hesitation in buying from them.

Hope everyone gets what they ordered x

This inability of M&S to fulfil orders seems odd.
I ordered a jacket this morning on line, when there were 10 of the size I wanted available according to the web page. This is now 1. Does this mean that the warehouse has despatched all but 1, or does it mean that orders placed through the web site have effectively reduced availability right now to just 1? Any logically designed system would imply the latter. I would be fascinated to hear from any M&S insiders to know whether that is the case or not.

PS. Dear Mr M&S, if you are reading this forum, maybe you could comment on this, since there do appear to be lots of disgruntled MSErs out there, painfully burnt in the past by your system. We want to know how to get our bargains and there are quite a lot of us! Thanks.
    Regards, Jolly_Roger

Made a special journey this evening to the Manchester store in the hope of picking up some stuff for my hols. I got nothing. The sale relating to men's clothing is very sparse.

I wish I'd listened to my own advice I gave on here about nominated delivery! Most of my items are out of stock online now but no movement on my account. Same happened last year where about 5 items out of 20 were out of stock when they put the order together despite being available when I ordered.

Yet, I saw rails and rails, atleast 8/10 of them with men's suits, mostly Autograph and Collezione, being readied yesterday for the sale today. They had 2 trolleys full of men's formal shirts and some more rails of casualwear. This was near the Customer Service desk, near the ordering and refund desks. When I asked them whether I can choose from those rails, I was abruptly told, "No you cannot". In the end, I chose only some of the England/football related items and paid £1/£3 for them, as they had already been on sale for weeks now. So, unless they are put out on sale for the customers to browse, where do they go - to an outlet store? Or are they planning to put them out over the weekend?

Well, I am quite happy as the orders which I placed online yesterday have already moved to 'to be despatched soon'. In my experience, only when M&S is able to fulfill that order, they take the money and update the status accordingly.

    Sorry about the rant ;)

Sale in our store terrible. Went to look for suits also. They had 2 rails of suits which were 2 styles. Both were reduced to £100 (which was a big saving, but not what we were after).

Had a quick nose around and about 5% of the stock was reduced!
