Would you mind telling how much you bought the bus for?
I love busesHappiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I never said where I found the insurance! It was Sureterm Direct, for £286 fully comp.
The bus is for sale - we've had an amazing time in her, but it's time to move on to new adventures and let someone else have some fun. She's £15,000. You can see more details here:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

According to:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/WhatCanYouDriveAndYourObligations/DG_10037875
A motorhome 3500kg to 7500kg needs a category C1 licence, over 7500kg neds a 'C' licence.0 -
If you can drive an old bus on an ordinary car licence, as long as not for hire or reward, I am interested to know why you chose to register it as a motorhome? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It can be driven on a category B car licence.
The only licence restriction is the driver must be over 21, and can carry a maximum of 8 passengers.
Doesn't make any difference when they passed.
It's still a
"passenger carrying vehicle manufactured more than 30 years before the date when it is driven and not used for hire or reward or for the carriage of more than 8 passengers "
It may have been converted to a motorhome, but it's still a 30 year old bus.
So I don't think you'll be getting an answer there.0 -
