Insurance for double decker bus converted into motorhome - any tips?

Hello!
We have just bought a double decker bus which has been converted into a motorhome. The bus is 37 years old, and was converted 3 years ago to a professional standard. It weighs 11.5T and the engine is 10L. It is registered as a motorhome.
I am 32 years old with a clean record, and have been driving since I was 19. I currently have 3 years no claims, but only as a named driver - and it's not transferable.
We're searching for insurance. We expect to only drive it 400 miles this year.
We had a quote of £300 from Sureterm, but they said they couldn't actually cover us until we'd had it for a year. We've had a few other quotes in the £800 region, but most insurers say it's too old, too big, too large an engine, too heavy, too beautiful ;-) Well, not the last one, but I'm sure they would if they saw it!
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how we could get affordable insurance on our lovely bus?
Other info - it would be kept on a gated driveway in Norfolk countryside. It has a reversing camera. It has a new MOT.
Thanks!

Just curious, are you licenced to drive over 7.5 ton? Do you need to be?
I've always fancied converting a bus, an knew I could drive it on my car licence, but thought it had to be under 7.5 ton.0 -

at that weight he/she would have to have a hgv/lgv license or a psv license i thinkSealed pot challenger # 10

Hopefully it's been de-classified from a bus or she'd need PCV.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Thanks Mikey, I've tried all of them! Thanks though! Safeguard was £870, Adrian Flux handed me over to someone else, who couldn't do it, Footman James don't do old vehicles, the other two couldn't do it.
Licence - one can drive a 30 year old bus on any licence. However, this bus has been registered as a motorhome so requires an LGV licence.
"Holders of a full category B (car) driving licence may drive any of the vehicles listed below:- a passenger carrying vehicle manufactured more than 30 years before the date when it is driven and not used for hire or reward or for the carriage of more than 8 passengers"

They are not the greatest Insurer but you could try KGM http://www.kgminsurance.co.uk/products/specialist-vehicle0

Try NFU mutual - I have a truck converted to a motorhome & they have insured it on a classic policy. Significantly cheaper than the alternatives & great customer service - it's like being back in the '80s where the broker knows you0
