    I have disputed a speeding ticket in the past, and won, but not because someone jumped in front of me.



    The correlation is relevant because it was brought up by SMK77 in the post before mine.
    I hope none of these people who have a "lapse in judgement" ever get behind the wheels of a car...

    So I would ask you what is the relevance of the correlation between those that go over their minutes and those that get behind the wheel of a car.

    I've read through this post over the past few days with interest, and one thing is puzzling me.

    Why do you think the network should inform you when you exceed your minutes? Don't you think that's your own responsibility to check them on a regular basis?

    Regarding your previous usage, and considering the networks have millions of customers, I can understand if a trigger is set off if a lot of international calls are made that are outside of a customers usage pattern. A lot of calls to the same numbers which are regulary dialled would not do anything as it would be a pretty good guess you were using the phone, just a lot more than usual.

    Appreciate your comments. But in this particular month the usage was more than 400% the usual usage over the previous 5 months of the contract. And Im not the only one that feels there should be a trigger. T-Mobile do, thats why they have one on other contracts.

    They dont have a trigger on other contracts

    If you are on the Flext price plan you get sent an automatic text once a week that states how much of your flext credit you have remaining.

    I have a really strong feeling this was the advisor who tried their best to show some empathy and credit you that mentioned the 'didn't you get a text' question. That advisor was probably the most kindest person you could have spoken to because if it was me, and regardless of all the shouting and claims of customer loyalty, I'd have said the bill stood. You made the calls, you agreed to the price of the calls when signing the contract and have no reason at all to complain. I doubt very much any of the networks would send a message about someone using 400% more minutes than a regular month but to the same numbers as usual. Everyone has a mad month, whether it's because they go abroad, or because they're just talking more than usual. Most people just learn from it and move on.

    I wonder how many people who have got into a car and been over the drink drive limit were sensible people who didnt go over their contract minutes.

    Did you not understand my comment? Because your response is complete irrelevant!

    What are you trying to say? We should let drink drivers off because they had a lapse of judgement??

  • Look at this way - they offered you a good amount off the bill, which effectively slashed the per minute price in half. You don't want to pay anything extra from the sound of things. Exactly how much extra do you feel you should pay for 6 hours of calls?

    But what are you going to do about it? Wait till you get a court summons or bailiffs knocking on your door?

    Why? Does it make them bad drivers if they have gone over their inclusive mobile minutes?

    Does it make them good drivers if they stay within their mobile minutes allowance?
