DNM -Thought it was really really good! I have started the first book a couple of times but couldn't really get going with it, but I will definitely try again now and hopfully read the others before the other films come out!
What a glorious day today has been, although it started out all grey and horrid. Today I:
1) Took T to WH Smith to get free Toy Story Lego - we were queueing out the door!
2) Went to two car boots and got some really great bargains. Spent £2.50 on three pieces of Cath Kidston china, and bought new Neals Yard and Cow Shed toileteries at 3 for £1. I looked them up and they are £7 each in the shops! Also got the kiddies some bits.
3) Went to a free family open day at our local safety centre. 999tastic.
4) All meals from stores.
5) SC
6) Online survey
Right off to make dinner, and crack my whip over B who is exhuming her bedroom floor.
See you tomorrow, L x0 -
Another miserable survey- I hate them
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Hi all :j
Today / yesterday I have:
cleaned bits of the house
Made scones and a quiche
HM meals throughout
Picked some tomatoes and raspberries
DD2 bought 2 large trays of very ripe cherry tomatoes at a car boot sale (she rang me, and we went halves - 50p each
), and we spent the afternoon making lovely tomato sauce to freeze / share. Actually she paid my 50p, and I contributed a bottle of olive oil, sugar and salt - plus the gas to cook it :rotfl:
Lovely to have though
Planted out leeks in space left by the broad beans which had finished
A lazy weekend - but back to work tomorrow

today - i went to the fruit and veg market at the crack of dawn and washed and froze 6 big bags of grapes - to be eaten and used as icecubes (3 quid - bargin), sliced up 14 peppers (£2) now in the freezer, then we went to the allotment and picked 5 Kgs of gooseberries, 4 lbs (asda bag full) of runner beans, a big bag of red and orange beetroot...the OH hand minced 4lb of beef which went into a chilli - eaten tonight and the rest frozen - made with onions, courgettes, garlic and beetroot tops all from the plot - yummy...lots of saving! Also got some planting done - hopefully the pigeons want snaffle my hand reared red cabbage seeds, fennel and other veggies. Not an exciting day by some peoples standards but very productive! Would you realise that I am female and only 35!!!been away for a while..need to get on financial track! debts.....Post Grad Student Loan, Northern Rock Loan, Egg CC, Halifax CC, A&L CC, A&L overdraftAllotment plot holder since Feb 2008 :j0

It is really is worth a purchase, nothing better than fresh bread and we use it all the time, ours wasn't that expensive either.
I've just asked my mother in law if she still uses her bread maker, and she doesn't - so she's giving it to me
New starting debt 30/12/2018 £30,164.76:eek:

I know what ur saying redsam! I'm 34 and at times its questionable whether I still have a pulse :rotfl:simple pleasures & more peaceful lifestyle is what I lean towards these days - if you'd have told me 5 years ago I would have fallen off of my chair laughing! There's a part of me that misses my younger lifestyle and yearns for it but the paradox is I changed and it no longer is as pleasureable for me. I guess "maturity" comes to us all

Evening all,
need to rant....
I AM FED UP WITH BEING SKINT :mad::mad:
I KNOW its all for the greater good, I KNOW that eventually all debts will be paid and I KNOW I will feel better but RIGHT NOW IT IS CARP!!!
On the positive side:
- dont use credit cards any more so cannot run up more debt. In the old days, it would have been "ah, sod it, stick it on the card" but we dont do that any more. :A
- We meal plan, & pretty much stick to budget for groceries. I dont buy anything we dont need. :A
- Debts are slowly coming down every month, instead of going up. And have been going down for over a year. :A
- We are going on holiday in 2 weeks, for a week in Devon, paid for with real money by saving up, working overtime & selling stuff on ebay. :A
- Whilst on holiday, we are going to Crealys and Bicton Gardens for free, using Tesco vouchers :A
On the negative side:
- have to say no when asked to go out for meals etc
- have to say no when DDs ask for things that are not in budget
- flaming fed up of never having money in purse
- not bought any new clothes for months & hate all the ones in my drawers
AND *BREATHE*
Ok I feel a bit better now0 -
Keep your chin up Mogchops, you've come a long, long way and achieved loads on your DFW journey
.
Just a couple of weeks til you're off on your PAID FOR WITH CASH holiday
. You'll be refreshed and raring to go when you get back :T.

((())) mogchops you've made such great progress - I know it can be a bit frustrating but think of how you'll feel when its finally all gone (the debt, not the money)
Its amazing you've managed to pay for in front a whole holiday for the family through overtime/ebay etc
Give yourself a giant pat on the back lady!!!! xxxxx
PS its OK to vent
thats what we're here for supporting/borrowing ideas/venting Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

[/STRIKE] omg so good :T - [STRIKE]make banana bread[/STRIKE]
- make hob nobs no golden syrup...
- hm bread - going to try a recipe other that "bog standard"! postpone this because have things that need to be eaten up in the next 2 days and don't want to divert ppl attention from them

- play tennis with oh
- [STRIKE]go for a walk[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]visit ex-mil[/STRIKE]
- meet up with best friend who is done from london for a coffee

- [STRIKE]make the most of being on call so cannot go out and spend money

so pretty happy with what I have achieved this weekend, and relaxed enough to get over the working week
In addition the above I- chopped and froze a load of mint in ice cube trays
- made roast
- resisted a dress in a CS (£6.98) didn't fit 100% and didn't want to get it and regret it
- resisted a pair of jean £25 - fitted really nicely but decided to put them back and think about it first. Turns out a couple of hours later I don't need them after all

- made the banana bread while the oven was on for the roast

- met with friend in a local park and caught up & arranged to play tennis on Tues
- bumped into a load of friend's I have seen for ages at the park so sat with them for another hour
- another hc, line dried & have put away (is there a smilie with a halo? I think I deserve it!)
