Are, hence your joke about being ripe at 25 lol (im only 6 month off)

I see your point about the CV, but nice time to chill out and decide what you want to do. If you have the savings there then seek the training to do something that will eventually turn to a (longer) career lol

    What languages do you speak?

French, Spanish, Italian, some Portugese. Although mostly conversational so not a lot of use as a translator. A lot of transalator jobs you need techie know- how in some field.

I would imagine you will find it difficult to do a visit more than once if my mental picture is anything to go by of what you look like. The rest of us are good at fading into the background, I should think you will look quite memorable (jealous.... moi?)

Yes but that is the beauty of being trained in make up and clothes. Very easy to look anonymous by dressing down a bit and little make up. Most of us did that away from photo shoots to avoid being pestered. And I am getting back into walking normally again. Just need to remember I am not walking in a straight line rotating my hips as I go. The high heels helped too. Oh the joy of wearing trainers now. And already I have gone from size 8 to size 10>:(

Thanks for responding. Sorry if I didn't explain myself well. The scenario is for example 3p fuel and the reimbursement is 3p and no fee. So it would cost me to do the job to drive to the garage and I can put 3p of fuel in by my home?!!! any clues?

    HHx
Thank Lil. I couldn't I work in QA, am such a geek it's untrue. Thanks for the support though.

As for the petrol they are asking me to put 3p in and paying me 3p for it. That's not cost neutral as garage 10 miles away so would cost me £3.64 to do it and then time to drive there and 20 mins for report. Think I'd rather eat another GAP burger!!! I may have got scenario wrong, will wait and see what paperwork says when it will allow me to view it :rotfl:

I look at it this way, if I buy 10 units* of fuel, use 2 units to do the job, and get the money for 10 units, I've still had 8 units "free" or as the wage for the job- after all I'd have bought fuel anyway.

Also, 10 miles for £3.64? I didn't think my car was super efficient, but I still reckon on about 15p a mile.

*I may be the wrong side of the pub, and the right word for how you measure fuel escapes me.

Think HH might've meant the garage is 10 miles away so therefore a 20 mile round trip which equals just slightly over 18p a mile? Sounds a bit more feasible anyway :)

Reminds me why I don't miss my gas guzzling Merc! :D
  • Please keep any reference to fees off of the thread.

We all know how much each job is, as we all see them on the job boards, there is no need to discuss anything about them at all.

Also, when we all moan that RE have gained another client, undercutting the original company ..........
    :)

Very good point... Also I might just be a bit paranoid but I'm sure some of the companies do keep an eye out on the happenings of this thread so please avoid saying how easy a job is for the fee etc as I'm sure that just prompts a fee cut :rotfl: i.e. if they think it's easy and "overpaid" we'll knock some off and can always put it back up if they won't do it for the lower fee :(

Seems to be quite a bit of downward fee-creep at the moment especially one company in particular. One of their clients I didn't bother picking any up because I'd thought they were taking the mickey with the fee when they did the first wave and then they've dropped it again for the second so it seemed even less worthwhile. They still disappeared in a matter of a day though :rotfl: Will chalk it up to the fact it's a bit quiet and we're taking on the crap jobs we wouldn't normally!! :)

Litres? Gallons? Way the prices keep going up it'll be millilitres before long :rotfl:

I see the point with regards to the "free" fuel since we'd have bought it anyway, however I'm sure the client is paying for the report in addition to the fuel reimbursement so why shouldn't we get a bit back as well :D horses for courses really but I only tend to do these if I'm passing the garage concerned or near to it as otherwise it just seems a bit pointless and I've got more cost effective ways to use my time...

Morning. thanks for trying to help me. 10 miles each way. My fuel costs 14p a mile. I have tried to query it with them as it's different to what they told me on the phone. As you know it will take ages to be answered. I'm going to cancel the job as it's going to cost me to do it!

    Welcome Gab

    Have a good day everyone
