Hi everyone. I have been a lurking on here for about 6 months.

For various reasons...one being reaching the elderly age of 25 I have had to leave my previous profession and look for pastures new. Could not have happened at a worse time with the recession. I have 8 "A" levels but my previous profession wouldn't be valuable to any other type of employer.

I was a high earner so still have a lot of savings so wouldn't qualify for govt help. But I need to do something so I came across MS'ing 6 months ago. So far have done RE but not keen on them.

But done quite a bit for GfK, Tern and Optimum Contact plus by reading the 1st page on here got loads of tips so signed up for all the Abai clients and got a lot from them.

Hope I dont miss anyone out but have studied all the pages of this and previous threads so thanks to Timnne, Aunty Pog, blindman, Josie and Tractor Girl and Becles for doing such a lot of research and being generous enough to share it.

I haven't got any queries at the minute as I a bit timid joining a new forum although it seems very friendly and helpful on here.

Thanks to all and good luck.

    Hi Gabs,

Just as well you have some savings, as you won't still be a 'high earner' with RE!

Good luck with your MS'ing, which area are you in?

Thank you so much Scotties Mum. I am in Scotland, Glasgow actually. Haven't lived here though since leaving school so it is kinda nice to be back.

Yes the fees are not good but good to get some self respect and it is so different to my previous life I am actually enjoying it. Sort of feel like a Spy. You know playing a role etc. Though in some ways I did that in my previous job.

Thank you everyone for welcoming me.:T

Welcome, nice of you to post. We don't bit (ok, i don't, can't commit for the others)

I do have to ask. What was your previous career. It seems rather odd you would say your skills would not be any good for another employer. Everything is transferable surley!! Hope you don't mind me ask, yes, i am very nosey lol
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

I was a model. Good fun while it lasted. Very hard work though and not nearly so leisurely as most people think.

So though I trained hard most of what I learned isn't much good in today's competitive job market. Plus my cv would make employers think I am just a bimbo.

I am looking at maybe gym related work as I am very fit and still exercise a lot. Habits of a lifetime and all. Or what I really fancy is something with the languages I learned although all I have found so far are bilingual call centre jobs.

Are, hence your joke about being ripe at 25 lol (im only 6 month off)

I see your point about the CV, but nice time to chill out and decide what you want to do. If you have the savings there then seek the training to do something that will eventually turn to a (longer) career lol

    What languages do you speak?

I would imagine you will find it difficult to do a visit more than once if my mental picture is anything to go by of what you look like. The rest of us are good at fading into the background, I should think you will look quite memorable (jealous.... moi?)
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(
