A big bowl of pasta, pesto and parmesan. Or random veg stirfried, coated in sauce made from whatever I have to hand with a handful of cous-cous thrown in. Or carryout, if it's lazy food for two.0

I've been buying noodles from the local asian supermarket lately, just adding some nuked frozen veg and anything else e.g. cheese lying around and a drop of soy sauce. Fantastic, supermarket cheapo noodles cannot compare.0

My emergency standby meal is "3 tin stew".
A tin of stewed steak, a tin of new potatoes and a tin of sliced carrots or garden peas. Makes 4 x 250ml bowls.
Empty tins, water and all, into big saucepan, cut up spuds into halves or quarters, depending on size. If any spuds are damaged, just mash them up and throw them in as well. They will help make the gravy a bit thicker.
Bring to boil and then simmer until spuds are cooked.
For specal occasions, jazz up with an OXO cube and/or a teaspoon of dried parsley.
Also good for camping and caravanning, but not recommended for backpacking. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

My favourite is really hot chips - then whisk a fresh egg with s&p and pour this over. The hot chips cook the egg (just) and the egg makes a sauce for the chips.0

Lidl cream chicken, add some lightly boiled broccoli and serve with couscous or a jacket spud...one pan and 10 mintes.
Chinese curry sauce made with the paste from asian supermarkets...add water, microwave...add anything leftover hanging around or pour over chips. One pan and 5 minutes
Cheesy scrambled eggs made in microwave on toast...one old Xmas pud dish (they don't stick so easy washing up) and 5 minutes.
Pie floater...chipshop pie (steak or meat and potato) and beef or oxtail soup poured over if in a dish (pie upside down)... 5 mins
