Still in an optimistic mood for 2015;)
I'm loving the Save for Xmas 2015 challenge - I've upped my daily amount to £2 per day and have £70 so far:)

First day back at work and first NSD for January - I want to try for 10 days this month and think this is achievable.
Also, went shopping with eldest DD yesterday but no clothes were bought so £200 budget for the year is still intact. I have been going through my wardrobes and have enough clothes to keep me going for several years:o Also, I am ashamed at how many pairs of shoes I have (many still in boxes), I obviously have a shoe fetish and I do like decent shoes:eek:
Spending very little this month and trying to stick to a strict budget...21 days until payday:eek: but freezers and cupboards are still quite full.;)
Glad to be back to normal after the festivities:)

Second NSD yesterday so that's 2 so far for January.
OH continues to smoke rolled tobacco and this is making a real difference to how much money he is spending (even he's noticed!)
I think we just might get through January;)

3 NSD's so far for January;)
OH is quite happy with rolled tobacco so that has saved me around £70 this week after deducting the cost of the tobacco!!!!!! He said that he has got used to it and might carry on:o This would be fantastic and makes a massive difference to...well everything!
I had £250 to last me until 26th January and I still have £187.59 with 16 days to go. I stocked up on essentials last weekend and this weekend I will need to buy some bits but we do still have food in the freezer and the cupboards, so not doing too badly.
9 days in my £200 clothes budget is still intact but there is a long way to go. I'm still optimistic about this and think that I can stay within my budget:o
My next hurdle is the MOT on my car and I'm hoping that I have enough put aside to cover this. Good thing with my new job is that I travel most places by train so this is saving on wear and tear as my car is now coming up to 9 years old and I was starting to worry about the number of miles I was piling on.
Still in optimistic mode:cool:

Excellent news with DH and his tobacco
and your shopping budget!
The MOT will be fine and you will have enough saved!! I put aside money each month and have to keep my fingers crossed. I have been saving for my tax as well but have switched to DD but I am going to keep saving the same amount and then this can cover any extra car repairs or can be my starter fund for when I need a new car.0 -
Hi EE,
Yes, I'm not worrying about the MOT for now;) my car tax is only £30 per year which is great and I have just paid this.
Shopping total yesterday was £27 so keeping within budget. We have meals for each evening and lunches whilst I work from home. I moan about OH's lack of responsibility etc. all the time but credit where credit is due - when it comes to cooking he is a whizz and he batch cooks everything from scratch so we always have our meals covered;)
I hope that you have a relaxing Sunday:)
Take care

OOh a man who can cook - shame he is not perfect in all areas:rotfl:
I have jinxed my car , it has broken so I will need to use my car fund!! On Friday I drove into/over a pot hole that I didn't see and now some of my suspension coil has broken off so will need to get it repaired.
I had both coils done early last year so definitely this pot hole - I am going to try and make a claim. When I came past it on the way home the council have been out and sprayed a X on it in yellow. I think they should have put a cone on it as it is huge and right on a bend.
Who knows how much this will cost?
Instead of cutting through the countryside to work we will be going along the main road and will have to get caught in traffic!!0 -
What a shame about your car EE, get that claim in quick!Debt Free 1st March 2017

Still on track with my goals for 2015
5 NSD's so far for January.
No spends on clothes, so £200 budget for the year is intact.
Saved almost £100 so far on the Save for Xmas 2015 challenge.
OH is still smoking roll ups so still saving there.
Optimistic view of life has taken a bit of a hammering this week, the job has been horrible (unrealistic targets for getting work finished) so I have been working 12+ hours a day and I'm worn out. I think I may have to look for something else:(
Anyway, it's the weekend so I'm putting all thoughts of work away and off to the supermarket. We've still got food in the freezer but it is dwindling now, only 9 days until payday so we should be ok.

Just had my review with Stepchange - not much has changed so our payment has only increased by £4 per month but this brings our debt-free date 1 month closer;) I am determined to complete our DMP in 2016 (sounds so much better than 2017)...I will be debt-free next year! (even if it is the end of the year).
8 NSD's so far for January - should be able to reach my target of 10 with ease:o
3 days to pay day after today - still got £75 left but food in the freezer is now minimal.
Feeling quite optimistic again but will be glad to see the back of January;)
