  • Hi Jackie,

I'm not sure when CCCS review, I've seen posts on here saying they have had reviews after 3 months and then others who have said 12

I hope that October is better for you and just think another payment towards your DMP - hasn't the last couple of months flown by? It doesn't seem that long ago where we were both panic striken and unsure of the path that we were going down. I'm still glad that I've done this.. are you?

    Take care
    Ellie xx
  • New job is going well and I feel positive about the future. Over the last couple of months I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders, going onto the DMP has been the best thing that I've done in a long time.

Today I received my first statement from CCCS and the balance on our debt is going down! I'm getting used to paying for everything with cash and it feels good;)

Statement from MBNA shows no interest Yaay!!

Second payment has now gone out today to CCCS - it's strange but I look forward to making this payment. It's good that I can go online at CCCS and see the total balance and that it is now reducing (even though the total figure is very scary:eek:)

New job is going o.k. and I think that I'm going to like working there.

Letters and phone calls have reduced drastically, OH still getting text messages from Barclaycard but he's just ignoring them.

Frightened to spend any redundancy money so going to put most of it away in a savings account. This money will take away the worry over the Winter when OH's business doesn't do much and will see us through to Spring.

All in all we are surviving and I feel much happier than I have for a long time:)

Nothing much to report at the moment, payments are going to CCCS and preditors are getting their share. Life goes on without credit and less stress!

We have had a letter from Mercers demanding money but I have rung CCCS who have advised me to file away with everything else, so I have!!

It is really strange how the same preditor treats all customers so differently. My OH is the one who has received the letter from Mercers but on my account they have accepted reduced payments and their statements show this.

For anyone who is reading this and still wondering whether they should go down the DMP route, all I can say is that from my own experience it has been the best thing that we have done for years!! Of course we can't get anymore credit but after this experience I really don't want any and we are managing to live quite well without it. I'm no longer plotting how to rob Peter and his family to pay all the Pauls out there:o

Things are still quiet apart from Mercers who are relentless with phonecalls and today my OH has received a letter saying that he is 3 months behind with his payments and that they MAY send a debt collector to the house:eek: They have also offered a BOGOF i.e. make 2 payments and get your account credited with the third?? Anyway they can BOG OFF!! I have written back to say that we have made payments through CCCS and also to ask that they stop ringing as we will only deal with them in writing etc. etc. so we will see if that has any effect.

Settling into my job quite well and managing to keep within our budget pretty much. My redundancy money is being tucked away so that maybe in the future we can make F&F's and it is always there as an emergency fund too:o

    Hi Jackie

Yes still plodding along - I'm 2 payments in and managing o.k. This is the worst part of the year for us as work now dries up for OH.

    Glad that you are o.k.

For anyone who is being harassed by phonecalls - do send a letter to request that they stop as it really does work. My OH was getting between 8 & 10 calls a day from Barcrapley Card until we sent a recorded delivery letter asking them to stop harassing and phoning - this week he has had 1 phonecall:)

Everything else in our life is trundling along, this is our most difficult time of the year as OH doesn't earn anything in the winter so everything is down to me but my redundancy payment should keep us going until the Spring:o
