    Hi Ellie

Thanks for the tips I did a spate of mystery shopping a few years ago, but didnt really make very much from it, and then the company went bust so I just gave it up.

I have done some surveys but some take so long I think you need to be sitting at your computer all day sometimes Im not sure if I am that dedicated and like you dont have that sort of time to spare.

Its hard when you are trying to do other things to make extra money on the side that make any difference, ill see how I get on with e-bay and when the kids arnt around look into other things.

Please do let me know if you find anything many thanks

Thanks Suze, I am quite proud of myself at the moment and determined not to start again. The fact that I am putting the money away is keeping me motivated and I have a huge wallchart in the spare bedroom with the days ticked off so far:)
  • I've been made redundant:eek:

Now, there are two ways that I can look at this:

    a) it's a positive thing, I hated my job anyway and I will get a decent pay off. I will find a job quickly and the redundancy money will help to pay off my debts faster

    or

    b) I will struggle to find a job as I'm in my 50's and then I won't be able to pay my mortgage so will lose my home

So at the moment I'm going with option A and keeping optimistic that I will find a job quickly:o

Apart from the loss of job everything else is much the same as usual, first payment to CCCS is today!

  • Hi Ellie

Oh sorry to hear that you have lost your job. It might be a good thing you never know
if you get a good pay off.

Hope you find a job quickly then you will be quids in and pay some of those debts off.

    Good luck with everything

  • Thanks Jackie, I'm trying to stay positive and just hoping that I find a job soon.

    How are things with you?

  • Hi Ellie

Not too good thanks after paying CCCS and other stuff ie kids stuff dont seem to have much left for the month, even after trying to budget, I guess I dont really earn enough.

I feel frustrated as Im really trying hard to stay in not spend money but its just impossible. Second payment to CCCS has been paid< i guess your first is due.

Hope the job hunting goes well and being a non smoker must be hard for you.

    Stay positive Jackie
  • Today is my last day at work (I think), have looked on some of the job sites but there doesn't appear to be much out there:eek: I will not panic at this early stage and have applied for a couple of jobs so far.

Payment has gone to CCCS, still getting a few calls during the day, letters are now at a minimum too.

With all our rotten luck this year I can't be bothered worrying about any of it, the worst that can happen to us is that we lose our home because we can't pay the mortgage. We have been incredibly unlucky so far, so surely we are due something positive?

  • Whilst trawling though for jobs I've noticed that there are an awful lot of vacancies at the debt collection agencies........ I would rather starve!
  • After a truly emotional day at work I am now without a job but have enough money to keep me going for a good few months. I'm not going to panic at this stage and am staying optimistic that this is a good thing and that I will get another job soon.

Letters are still coming threatening me with court etc. but just filing these away

Still so glad that I have gone onto the DMP and managing to keep within my budget so far.
