There was no medical advice given since you first posted it, why do it again?
Talking about other poster's medical conditions such as depression and advising them to help themselves rather than relying on medication could go against medical advice they have been given by professionals Or suggesting they take medication . This is also against forum rules.

Is it worth it to keep trying to get DLA when you have been turned down 3 times?

I think it's a waste of time, unless their needs have now changed. I was denied mid care at appeal in January. I'm now trying again, as my needs have changed a lot and I know I meet the criteria.

  • I fully understand depression and mental health. I have a number of physical disabilities, not least blindness and arthritis which stops me walking any useful distance. I am paranoid schizophrenic, severe social anxiety disorder, OCD. Nobody can tell me I do not understand severe depression. All I wanted to do was help others escape with me but I was met with resistance.

I'm sorry I tried to help, and if anyone is offended by my attitude I will not apologize - I am 100% comfortable with it.

There are different levels of depression. Some people can barely move or eat or speak when it happens to them or they hear voices or hallucinate. Perhaps if your own depression is not like this - and if that's the only medication you are on, it presumably is not - it's difficult to understand. But I have seen it for myself.

Auditory and visual hallucinations are not a symptom of depression, this is a separate psychosis and needs different treatment. Obviously, people who are so depressed that they can barely move, eat, or speak need our help and should not be expected to help themselves.

My concern is those who are able to help themselves, or able to find help, but they just find excuses not to.

I have not suggested anyone help themselves rather than rely on medication, nor have I suggested anyone take medication. I did say what I had done to explain what is possible. I have not broken any rules, you are being unfair - possibly because my opinion is unpopular.

I assume that you are not a psychiatrist and it has already been pointed out to you that this isn't the place for giving out medical advice.

But you're wrong, hearing voices can be a symptom of depression. I don't really understand why you're still commenting on this stuff.
  • sh1305 - I just realised you're the one who insulted me on another thread because I couldn't understand your post. I wish I'd never bothered trying to help you.
