Hi, sounds like things are moving in the right direction. If you had two clients who are happy then they will mention you to their friends and things will start to escalate.

I work for an organisation in Cardiff but I travel across Wales delivering talks and workshops, as I live in West Wales I am home based. I do travel a fair bit though.

Regarding an editorial, why not just contact the local features editor and tell them about your new business and ask about you writing a piece regarding Hypnotherapy for them. If they have space to fill they will consider an editorial that way. Also if they have a features page such as health or womens page then you could offer to write a piece specifically for that. If you are not confident in writing then ask for help from MG or others on your diary to point you in the right direction. We could proof read it and give you pointers! They might bite your hand off because they are getting you to work for free effectively. You can include a picture of yourself and your contact details. Lots of local papers are up for that kind of thing. You dont ask you dont get! Also have you thought about your local radio station? They might find it interesting to interview you and do a phone in or something. Have you also thought about contacting your local GP practices or hospitals? What about hospital radio slots? I would also take your leaflets to the local government/tax/benefits.jobcentre offices. Ask to speak to their HR managers. Lots of these organisations now do health information days for their staff and invite local businesses in to do talks or provide mini taster sessions. Sounds strange but what about your local MP, they also often have information days for their constituents. If they are having a health information day they might let you have a stand there.

Hope you dont mind, I started my own diary this morning and I plan to credit the people that inspired me to start it and why. You were my first credit as I am inspired by your quotes and I am going to "borrow" your idea and put my own favourite quotes in there.

Hi Knitwit, i'm so surprised I've not come across your diary before...but I've subscribed now.

Do you have any beauty salons nearby where you could look at working from say one day a week, you would to either pay for the room, or come to some sort of arrangement regarding the fee split. But it might help generate more interest and if the fee at the salon is slightly higher than at home, clients may lean towards visiting you at home.

I know you have mentioned weight loss & smoking as target areas, what about nail biting. I am a biter :o and did go to a hypnotherapist a few years ago. I stopped for about 18 months, but have slipped back into my habit. Women tend to go for false nails, but men don't have that option.

    Hi Knitwit,

Love the idea of drinking home made wine. I have some elderflower champagne on the go at the mo. Never done it before but it will hopefully work.

You are doing really well with your business so far. You have had 2 clients this week and as a new business that is a great start. Good luck with the job applications.
Have you ever read the Motivated Mind by Raj Persaud. I found it really thought provoking, it helped me to focus on what I really want in life. And made me realise that to get to where I wanted to be I sometimes had to do things that I would prefer not to. But by understanding that it was a means to an end it helped a lot. I am almost there still a couple of steps to go but hey, life would be boring if we got everything at once as we wouldnt have any purpose to our days then.

'if you are distressed by anything external, the pain is due not to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it, and this you have the power to revoke at any moment' Marcus Aurelius

My only client this week was a no show this morning, but the quote is true. Client let me down is a fact, it's up to me how I choose to feel about it. I am choosing to change my 'poor me' t-shirt, to a 'call to action' t-shirt. The day is mine, how fab is that after looking after DSD2 all day yesterday. DSD1 has taken DSD2 out so I could work. Peace at last, a result I think.

Cherisong I will look up Raj Pesaud, he use to be on this morning did'nt he , has 10 degrees or something silly, he should know a thing or 2.

Net 78 thanks I need all the support I can get at the moment. The diary does help me think things through and I love the response you guys give. You nudge me back on track when I need it.

Snowy owl glad you like the quotes. I find them really helpful, sometimes it helps to see life through a different perspective. The old thing about if 10 people walked down the same street they would all have a different story at the end.

I am going to have a little quiet time now to think what to do next. If what your doing isnt working for you do it differently. same action same results, new action new results :D
