Thank Lannylee, it feels good

Wow january thats a amazing!!! Well done!!!!
I'm ticking the debts off one by one. Can feel the weight slowly coming off my shoulders.
Just keep signing onto challenges on the DFW section which me really helps me to focus.
So right now i've earmarked £250 to get the car fixed, its a debt, but we should get that paid this week as well. Its a struggle paying for everything, but i'm determined to be debt free.0 -
Going back to governement cuts... I was shocked when my 2 DDs got their Trust Fund amount which I think was £250 each  with more to come...
TBH, whilst of course I took the money for them, I was shocked that the government were giving away this sort of money and think it should be abolished immediately. (if it hasn't been already as I am not very up to date on the cuts... too scary)
Edit... They have cut it... see here https://www.moneyformums.co.uk/Home/Latestnews/GovernmentannouncesspendingcutstoCTF/tabid/232/Default.aspx
Can someone explain how to do the neat links please0 -

That's exactly what we're trying to do, unless we've got the cash in our hands, tough, we'll have to wait.
It's all too easy to get carried away with the c/card, as it doesn't feel like 'real' money, very dangerous!0 -

Take a pack of cheapo digestive biscuits - ok for everyday nibbling or to use as a base for cheesecake, but the ingredients list is not for the faint hearted. A batch of home made cookies/shortbread/gingernuts etc will soon disappear, but you probably need to eat less of them because they are more satisfying - and you know what's in them!
Thanks..i was trying to work out if it would be cheaper to buy than bake...as you say batches of cookies and biscuits soon disappear from the kitchen...i know i should eat less of them but they call me when i go past the tin:rotfl: and i'm not a rude person and can't ignore them:rotfl:;)...

Got half a cucumber, some cherry toms and some ham for free from my mum last night
a nice swap as I've been giving her bits and bobs from our veg box when we've had too much of some things.
Going to see the letting agents on Saturday and will ask them to arrange to fix the radiators that don't work in our house but in spite of being very cold we've not bothered with the heating just yet, it's blankets all the way! The only thing I do find to be a problem is getting washing dried.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
CC: £6412.95 (0% APR until Feb 2015 which I'm hoping is also my DFD!)
Currently awaiting the outcome of a PPI claim which may bring forward my DFD, fingers and toes crossed!0 -
We owe few grand on credit cards and overdrafts, over payments etc, so i'm slowly paying everything off.
My OH isn't ready to go full on debt busting so i just pay as much as i can, which to be fair, isn't a lot compared to others but to us it is.
So i try and meal plan, batch cook etc so the extra can pay some things off. But yeah credit cards are dangerous as you don't see the money being handed over. so easy to just put it on a card.
But the first part of the plan is to pay argos (done) car (soon to be done), and two other smallish debts before cracking on with the three bug credit cards. I'll pay the overdrafts off when i finished paying for the cc's. How bad is that

Don't feel bad at my worst I had over £35K, spread out over 5 CC, 2 store cards, 1 personel loan & a new car _pale_ but now we're almost there CC will be done by Jan 2011 & last loan payment is 1st March 2011 & then all we'll have is our mortgage & car loan, which as we do a 100 mile round trip everyday to get to work is a must, but we did get an eco one so it's more fuel efficient & the tax is only £35 a year compared to the £150 on the old one, so slowly we've gotten there, but it's taken almost 4 years!0
