Whatever happens you can be really proud of her and yourself. I don't want to get your hopes up falsely but I think they only call in the ones they expect to do well. Not sure if they do know the results but they probably have a good idea from her predicted grades. My niece was contacted and she got 'A's Let us know.Second purse £101/100

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good day. Glad to hear good news of your cat and Dad, Lindy-Loo and Crickett respectively, was thinking of you last night.
My OH arrived home late last night, armed with gifts! They were leaving presents from his colleagues as it was his last day at work, and one of them was particularly exciting! It's a book called "Grow your own, Eat your own" by Bob Flowerdew. Don't know if any of you have seen it, and I've only had a quick look so far, but it looks fantastic. It's all about how to cope with gluts of fruit and veg, and talks through how to bottle, pickle, smoke, jam, jelly, dry (and a million other storage methods!) all kinds of things. I'll enjoy reading that from cover to cover, and hopefully will be brave enough to try some of the methods, because all I've ever done with fruit and veg is freeze it.
So if anyone has any questions about the above, I'm your girl - I'll consult my (sorry, OH's) book!
Oh - someone on here mentioned about M&S's sausages being really nice, and great value when they're on 3 for £10. Well, I was passing M&S today and thought I'd check out their offers....and the sausages were there! They had double 8-packs (i.e. 16 sausages) on 3 for £10, those were the 93% meat ones. And they also had 20-packs of 78% meat ones on 3 for £10. I bought one pack of the 93% and 2 packs of the 73%, so that was 56 sausages for £10, or less than 18p each - bargain!
They also had their Oakham chicken thighs on 2 packs for £5 - 650g packs I think they were. I bought two that had 4 thighs in each, but they're huge so would only need one each. Not super-cheap, but I try to only buy higher-welfare meat so I'm happy with that. M&S are expensive, but when they have offers on, they can be quite good value IMO.
Stopped in at Lidl on our way home and bought some flour. Bread flour was 60p for 1.5kg and plain/SR flour was 42p. Can't remember what it was last time I bought it. Got 3 bread flour and one each of plain and SR, but that was all we could carry as we were walking and already had about 5 kilos of meat....!

Another lurker here but had some brill news yesterday, Dyson hoover has broken soleplate wont move, so reluctantly went to look for a new hoover (the hose is taped up too so thought it would be cheaper to buy a new one) Just about to buy a new one and whilst discussing buy now pay 12 months time interest free discovered they don't do this any more, and then somehow got on to discussing guarantees and apparently Dysons are guaranteed for 5 years I thought I hadn't had mine for that time so thanked Assistant and went home to check mine and found out not only when I bought hoover I also took extra insurance out too!! and guarantee dosn't run out till October 2010. How lucky is that!! Have to wait till 2nd September for it to be fixed but that kind Assistant has just saved me £300.00 Might help someone else in same situation as sometimes you forget what you bought in less MSE days gone past. Love reading everyones posts and am touched at the kindness and humility shown on here also the laughs and sense of humor which you certainly need especially will need if the Goverment have their way. I think sometimes they let these leaks through (last nights news on cuts) on purpose so that when the 'real' news is released we think It's not as bad as It could have been! Anyway off my soapbox and bye for now.M&S 2,200.00

Hi all, I haven't been around for ages, life has been a bit rubbish but we're soldiering on. I wanted to say really good luck to all who are waiting for A Level results, it must be a dreadful time for these kids, not enough uni places and few other options by way of employment and at that age all of these things feel like the end of the world, really big hugs for all :grouphug:
I could do with some good luck vibes for the next couple of days as I've got work related issues (some of you advised me fantastically before), I don't want to give any details at the mo, but could do with some assistance with PMA xxxPiglet

Ah!! Errr...any chance of shifting sideways into another Department?
I applied for an internal vacancy in children's services dept and they have lost a huge chunk of funding and the post was pulled. Im an admin assisstant so should be ok. My second job is on a Sunday (library assistant) but sometimes can get overtime if people on leave/sick.I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0 -
charlie's Aunt - thats a fantastic achievement for your Daughter:T:T my DS had similar problems and we too were overjoyed when he got his GCSEs as he too had a statement through most of his school years. I'm so pleased for you all.

Charlies aunt thats wonderful news, the day my Dd got 6 Gcse's was one of the best days of our life- she was written off at 7 by the school psychologist due to dyslexia and always tries her best in everything she does. You must be so proud.
