  • Morning all! Hugs to everyone who needs them, and cheers because its Friday!

Managed to throw my shoulder out this morning, doing up my coat! Not entirely sure how I managed that, but it hurts. A lot. Am very annoyed at that because I have been swimming every night this week and wanted to make it 6 days out of 7 that I have done significant exercise. Will decide later how painful it is and either go, or not. :(

Just had a declutter moment at work and have tidied my filing cupboard and set up all my new files for the new financial year. Colleagues have been looking at me in a rather bemused manner, but I don't care. They ought to be used to my funny old ways by now anyway. We are all supposed to be going to the pub at lunchtime so I am sure to be teased about my (only slightly obsessive) filing. Now if only I could have these declutter moments at home, life would be much easier!

Plans for today therefore are: Make it through the day at work; decide whether or not to go swimming tonight; go home and feed my beasts; see if neighbour is back from holiday and give her key back, or if she isn't say good bye to all of her beasts whom I have grown rather fond of this week; clean my house because it is a tip and a half; and then make dinner (omlettes and baked beans tonight! Yumm!) and collapse in a heap. Tomorrow is swimming and ironing and then we are going to a party of a friend of ours. She is from Jamaica and we have been promised Caribbean food, reggae music and a fab time! And then Sunday is Church (singing solo again I think) and then home to collapse in a heap (or more realistically, do the rest of the ironing!! :) )

Have a fab day and weekend everyone.

  • well what a gloomy looking morning it is here. DH is on holiday so I managed a lay in only to come down 2 children eating choc fingers after breakie so now I have 2 hyper children. I dont think DH believed me when I said the children can easily get into cupboards.
DS starts nursery next month and im wondering how hes going to cope. He was born very poorly only nobody notived till he was 10 weeks and then he was hospitalised. Seeing him being tube fed and pumped full of meds was heartbreaking. I had to leave DD and move into the hospital.
Looking at this 2.5 year old whos a big lad now and off to nursery makes me wonder where all the times gone
Wishing you all a lovely Friday
Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

Up early this morning vowing to clean the car out but it's not done yet. Grandchildren make a difference to the time taken to clean one inside as there's all the sticky fingerprints etc to deal with but I guess it's their job to cause work at their age.

I read that newspapers are no longer any good for cleaning windows as they're "laser" somethinged now. Any clues about this?

The weather is grim and I'm feeling dreadful after finding out yesterday we have almost no chance of achieving a natural pregnancy and will need IVF, fortunately we're eligible under the NHS but it's only 1 go at our PCT so we'll see what happens. I'm just trying to get my head round the whole thing.

I suppose at least it's nearly the weekend but we have gardening (if the weather clears up enough to use the hedge trimmer and grass strimmer) and housework to do so I'm not even looking forward to that.

I'm so sorry to hear that but its good news that you get a try of IVF funded thru the NHS. I know those who have gone thru IVF and adoption, its such a shame that they have had to - but they have their little ones now. I have 2 boys aged 3 and 5 and know that I am very fortunate xx

    afternoon everyone,

rained most of today - stopped now but very grey. havent been outside but need to pop to shops when DS2 wakes from nap.

Got our contents quote which has gone up again and went on comparrison site, apparently we can get cover for around £199 less than barclays are quoting - too me that seems really cheap or are barclays just really expensive? goona look into it more as it seems 'to good to be true'!

Made some crispy cakes today but need some choc crunch to fill in the treat box gap.

We've just renewed our buildings & contenst with Morethanks via Quidco & got £50 cashback - could give there a try? :D

i tend to make my own bread, which we all prefer anyway. I only really buy shop bought bread if its reduced 9p. Even my little ones go for the fresh bread in the supermarkets, both of them love tiger bread. My downfall, is i don't know how to make it. Anyone have a clue about how they make it?

The papers have got the price of bed completely wrong for a loaf i.e warbirtons its about £1.59 here.Absolutely shocking. Fresh bread tens to be cheaper.

Gailey been thinking about your baking which margarine/butter do you use? I tend to buy the cheapest one possible and use that. Its doesn't make any difference to the cakes that i've noticed. It helped me with cutting the costs of baking. Oh and instead of putting butter on bread for beans on toast, just omit the butter and shove the beans on top. I do this with soft cheese, jam, peanut butter basically any topping and its saved me a small fortune.

Tiger bread has a coating of peanut oil on it, that gives it it's colour & distinctive smell (had a friend who used to be a baker at AS*A)

I understand what you are trying to get your head around. Same for me and hubby, with the exception that IVF isn't an option for us either because of our religion. That sucks. A lot. :grouphug: We thought about adoption but hubby isn't sure it is a good idea for us either, so I am kind of resigned to not having children in our little family unit.

After our initial diagnosis I found that I sank into quite a depressive state. It took me some time to work out that what I was actually doing was grieving for my unborn babies. As with every kind of grief, you just have to give yourself time, let yourself cry and feel miserable, and try and avoid the Pampers and Follow on Milk adverts which seem to be EVERYWHERE.

I spent a long time like that, but now, I try and live my life to the full and relish being "child free". I don't like the term childless because that seems vey negative. I am not entirely sure what I am on this earth for yet, but I am sure all will be revealed at some point in the future. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. (I still symptom spot for example, and there are times when I am SURE I am pregnant, and then find out I'm not. That hurts, but you get over it eventually.)

All the very best of luck with the IVF lambanana, and though it is easier to write this then actually do it, try not to get stressed about it. I am a great believer in "whatever will be, will be". :)

Sorry to her that, lambanana ((hugs)). I, too, have seen friends and family go through IVF and adoption - hard at the time but the results are worth it :) Fingers crossed for you x

Just want to say huge thank you for those you suggested farmfoods our nearest one is 15mins up ring road.
Hubby loved it reminded him of iceland used to be 10years ago and it was so cheap.
Milks practically buy one get one free at 2 for 1.50 75peach as we been paying 1.56 in sainsburys and that lasts us a day.
The hovis was for quid so 50p a loaf seen as hubby not keen on my bricks.
The silverspoon sugar 59p brought 6 as intend to do baking as well.
Did stock up freezer as it handy to have few things to go with chips when you dont fancy cooking.
Spent 70quid farmfood but brought tonnes.weird they dont sell booze.
Might have to start jam making very soon as freezer getting so full.

We also went to farmshop we never tried before thinking might be cheap.
As akid farmshops used to be cheap direct from farmer now they ripoff joints with overpriced wild fruit. Jams , chuteys and sauces were 3quid makes me appreciate how nice my stuff is making them and hopefully people will appreciate as presents.
All I wanted was big bag of cheap potatoes shes said they not ready yet in few weeks time god nows how much she charge me.
There is a veg man on van i see going about and one at bath carboot I might try next sunday all I want is lot of spuds.

Did go mobile butcher and spent 27quid:eek: service was lovley
brought huge gammon joint-hoping will save us fortune in cooked ham as we get through loads and I hate the cheap reformed ham.
was 7quid for big one never cooked before he said boil in big pan, simmer for 2ours, leave to rest in water overnight then slice.

I got lost of sausages bangers and mash and sausage casserole.
some lovley 4huge rump steaks for 5quid, anyone know how to make peppercorn sauce.

lots bacon and diced beef for stews .

Only prob is have hardly any veg or grocery in house so need to go lidls and morrisions in order to start cooking as need stuff like tomatoes ect.

Babysitting this afternoon so 2 4yearold driving me potty.

still selling and buying buggies hoping make some money.

stopped buying papers last few days still too depressing.

Hoping hubby get date for interveiw soon.
