You have to be careful even with FF though as I find some things are still cheaper in Home Bargains.

We have a sort of price watch in work, if we find a bargain we say product x is on offer at Mr T's has anyone seen it cheaper elsewhere? There are a few of us who are frugal - some from necessity and some because they hate to spend more than they need to.

I like farmf00ds for toilet roll, milk, bread and some tins etc. P0undland for oxo cubes and some other bits.

I am not as handy for h0mebargains, but did try their 18 pack toilet rolls, I was not into them much, a bit too scratchy for me.:rotfl: But everyone is different and bots have varying degrees of sensitivity.;)

I have researched toilet roll (saddo that I am), because DH uses masses of it, so much so, sometimes he blocks the toilet and then denys it. He works away from home and it is so weird as my toilet works perfectly well for months, then it gets blocked when he is around. So, I wanted to get the best I could for the most reasonable price.

Every penny saved helps, even in the bog roll dept.;)

Well it feels like I am dripping money from my pocket at the moment. Had the following expenses in the last week:

    1. Hubby's Birthday Bash (which i had saved up for) :D
    2. New TV as the old one broke down
    3. New covers for sofa and chairs as cat had the runs. She is now perfectly fine and purring, but it cost us a PACKET!!
    4. The Vet bill - who told us "Your cat is in perfect health" and charged us £30 for the privilege of hearing that!
    5. The cleaning bill - putting the covers through the laundry six or seven times to get the stains out. Nope. So the old ones are going in the loft, and I shall take them apart and use them as pattern templates for a new set when I find some good (and cheap) upholstery material.
    6. Service and MOT on my car (Need car to get to work)
    7. Now, I need to get my tram pass renewed. The cheapest option is for a year, but it is quite pricey. And will come out all at once. (I need that to get from the car to the office! It saves about £12 per day in car parking charges, so it is worth it. Just about.)

ARGH!!!! Will someone make it stop, please!! I guess hubby shouldn't have said those magic words: "Hmmm, it looks like we have a nice little balance accumulating in the bank". Not any more we don't :(

In desperate need of some NSDs in the coming month. Going to go back over this thread for some more ideas.

Incidentally, does anyone know of a good source of cheap fabric and wool and cotton for crocheting with? I have lots of crafty ideas and need to get some stocks of this kind of stuff to get on with some of them! Thanks!!

I'm sure I paid £2.26 for 3.40litres (6pts) from Morrisons this week. That makes it a bit cheaper. The sugar is so much cheaper though, we have a Farmfoods about a mile away, if its dry tonight I'm going to have a walk up there, I've never been before! I dont hear many people talk about Netto?? Is it just that they are not available all over the country or aren't they cheap?

Something I have done over the last month is sort out our Digital TV, we wanted to upgrade to HD (my lovely mum&dad have given us a flat screen HD tv) but I didnt want to pay extra. I went through to the cancellations dept and said I could get a good deal with Sky. They gave me a free HD box - no installation charge and upgraded our package at no extra cost. There is a thread running if anyone wants to see it

The nearest Farm Foods to me is 25 miles away so I will give that a miss. I shall go to Lidls today for most of my shopping, but also pop to Mr T for a few things Lidls don't stock. I now have enough room in my spare room for my ironing board, woo hoo, the advert is going up today. This means I also have room to sew properly & my first task will be making some hats out of fleece for Christmas. I need to start making & saving some money ready for when my pay cut takes effect. My son has decided to move in with his sister for a few months to save some money. Unfortunately he can't move in with us as the family involved have children at the school where I work, they know me & where I work & he knows that they would just start causing problems for me too. It's disgusting that he is the innocent party but he is the one facing all the expense. He feels he has to move as the intimidation level is being cranked up, all the police can say is 'Well they are a problem family, they are known to us' Great help that is.

    Onwards & upwards!
