No Farmfoods here in Northern Ireland and I'm really jealous of all your bargains!! Just off out to our local market and I'm going to buy one of those trendy pull along trolleys. My kids are mortified and are refusing to walk beside me!! Let's see if they change their minds after they've carried 4/5 bags each, cos I tend to get a bit carried away at the market!

Alvin Hall was on BBC breakfast time this morning. He's doing a money programme on Radio 4 at 12 noon on Saturdays (for the next 4 weeks).
He's always so sensible and helpful re money.
On second thoughts - we could all probably teach him a thing or two about moneysaving!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I love Alvin Hall, he got me started on the getting out of debt route, my old copy of "Your Money Or Your Life" has been doing the rounds of friends for the past few years. I've even had an email from someone I don't know thanking me for letting them borrow it. Who knows where the book is now! :money:
I shall be tuning in to his show, thanks for letting us know about it.0 -
gailey, Its 1% fat, so maybe a bit less than semi skimmed. Tastes great
I now have some freezer room, so will get two when I do my shop tomorrow.I have ooking at your list for winter too. I might add something useful every week. Going to start with some UHT milk as that shouldn't be too expensive.
Edit: also good at Morrisons is 4 free range eggs for 50p.0 -
oops i think i may have to pay out for a new fridge/freezer. Don't have the money spare but i have £300 on my argos card left so could use that, but again i don't want to.
the fridge part has been on its ways out for the past two years, now the freezer has tunrned into an icebox (its supposed to be frost free). The motors making a very strange noise too. We have been fixing it ourselves for the past 4 years, its 10 year old but still you would think it would still be blumming working.
Ah well best get the food eating out of the freezer. No more excuses now. Now way am i throwing food out if i can possible help it.0 -
Kazlou, try freegle or the ads in the papers, I have gotten some good things from those, did you also try the fridge giveaway from Eon in Martin's newsletter, maybe if you got a free or cheap one just now to last you, you never know you might get one in the giveaway, I think it starts September? It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Oh no i didn't apply for that jackie, i'll speak to my OH about it tonight.
Thanks for that.
I've been looking on freegle, but they all seem to go super quick.
Going to have a look in the second hand shops where i am. When i was looking of my friend we found two undercounter fridge and freezer for £75 so will just go back there again.0
