Stress'd Help Suicidal Don't know What To Do

This is what I was advised to do by the police too.
All A+Es have a duty psychiatrist or a crisis team on call, so if you are suicidal get yourself there asap. Yes it can be hard to get help, it took me nearly a year to get the help i needed , and it will probably be nearer 2 years before they give me counselling. It is a long road, but you just have to keep telling them that you NEED the help. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi ESAHeadache,
Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Secondly, I am in the same boat as you.
I moved to ESA from JSA because of MS and depression. My application was turned down as I got 12 points of the 15 required (apparently, this happens to a lot of people!). They told me over Easter that my ESA and other benefits would be stopped. I appealled immediately and my ESA was reinstated.
I got to the end of my tether and wrote to my MP (best thing I could have done). He gave me the contact number for the Community Legal Advice Service (0845 345 4345).
The solicitor I spoke to called ESA and asked what is happening with my "reconsideration" (remember that word!).
When I appealled, what they actually do is to check that the 'i's" are dotted and the "t's" are crossed. Then it is put to the end of the pile. The day after the call, I had the paperwork for the tribunal.
To cut a long story short, there is help out there and depending on your situation free of charge. The fact that you have been referred to the Tribunal should be look at as a positive thing. The Hard part is over. If what your representative says is true ie that your case is a 'given', then you shouldn't worry at all. The Tribunal is completeley independent fron DWP and, from what I hear, are fed up of these cases that shoulod be nailed on.
Don't stress and good luck (you won't need it)

I've had a read through this thread the best i can, I suffer from mental health issues and have been in the support group of ESA since end Dec 2009 having to attend 2 medicals in that time.
The ESA process for me has been quite simple and stress-free, and i believe this is down to not focusing on the ESA process and instead concentrating on getting my health sorted.
I was soon under the care of a psychiatrist who has given time in our sessions to aid me with filling any forms the ESA have sent me and giving me letters of support to hand to medical examiners.
I have overdosed many a time, and frequantly feel the need to try again but there seems to be some sort of blockage in my mind to actually go ahead to do it - that's the best way i can describe it.
Mental health obviously effects us in many different ways as you are able to communicate your thoughts when they happen, as opposed to me who would just get on and do it - fortuatley you are in a better position than me on that front.
What i would suggest is that you concentrate on getting yourself under the care of a psychiatrist - go to your gp surgery and ask for the duty gp to make you an immediate refferel to a psychiatrist. Obtain the pyschiatrist nhs secretary telephone number and make your apointment.
You can get to be seen sooner this way as there can be cancellations which you can fill.
I hope you begin to feel better soon, once you get your health support sorted the rest should fall in to place.0
