I think the shop and scan only needs to be connected to the phone once a week when you transmit your shopping details - Sky shouldn't have a problem.

They had a problem about it, I thought i'd check. Someone else in the house has shop and scan, which has to be connected to the internet, and is nice, small and compact.

Just noticed they've left the points on my account, 15k o.o

If its done via the internet or a dial up phone number there is no way Sky could no you just aren't making a standard phone call. If its done via broadband your phone is still free. I know sky want to be connected to your phone line but they can never expect access 100% of the time.

Shop and scan connects via USB/Printer port to your computer and you upload that onto the internet... but I've just checked and it was Fact Finders I joined through Test and Vote... that is whole other kettle of fish. You are given a scanner which is bigger than a cordless home phone... it has a screen etc. and you scan and enter the info onto it. You then have the base section which is connected directly to your phone line and I guess that will cause problems with Sky Plus. They actually call you in the middle of the night but it shouldn't ring your phone as it's kinda like connecting to the net in that it collects the info from the scanner.

I sent everything back to them - it wasn't worth it although I do know people that have been with them for years.

    D :)

Thats what I had! I was anticipating something small and .. handy?

Has anyone else been writing 'opinions'? ive written a few now, and have been getting 100 points each time and for some reason i get 5 or 10 more points - i think maybe other people have been rating my opinions?

I have Factfinders AND Sky+ and it is no problem at all. We have a socket doubler at the main socket, one goes to the Sky+ box, the other runs to the Factfinders terminal and the phone is plugged into the Factfinders terminal. We run Factfinders, Sky+, Broadband, Skype and a VPN for my work simulataneously off the same phone line and it is no problem at all. Factfinders call you once a week about 3am but the phone doesn't even ring.

I have to agree with this - we have Factfinders and Sky+ - no problems whatsoever. However, apparently there are two different handheld units floating about - if you happen to get an older version, apparently they have caused problems in the past. I can't remember exactly what they said now, but if you do get one that causes problems it would be worth giving them a ring and trying to exchange it for the newer unit. It takes only a short time to get used to, and then it's well worth it - loads of things you can spend your points on.

I have been with Factfinders about 10 years. I had to exchange my handset about 3 years ago when something went wrong with it and the 'no' key wouldn't work anymore. Dunno if a 3 year old handset qualifies as 'new'....?

I've never heard of this? Sounds like a good way to boost points.

There are several categories to write an opinion on.If you go into cinema, there are all manner of films, genre, alphabetical, actors and actresses. You can also write an opinion of actors and actresses themselves which I think has only recently been added. Just as well as I was running out of films to comment on:) The limit is 100 opinions a month so you could do 3 or 4 a day and have 10000 points by the end of a month. People can rate them as not interesting/interesting/very interesting and you get between 5 and 10 points for that too(not sure if there are points for not interesting).

I just had a survey for test & vote for 10,000 points. However when I click on the link it takes me to a page saying:

"Thank you for participating in our research

Has anyone here had the same survey and know what details they are asking for? It is not my normal login and password, I've tried that....
