Isn't it a waste of public funds investigating someone that might not have done anything wrong?
Surely it is best to wait until you have your facts straight before accusing potentially innocent people of fraud.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Isn't it good for people to know that they can be investigated at any time? They probably tell their friends and word gets around.0 -

People probably know that already what with all the adverts on the tv.
My point is should the op report her friend over something she read on Facebook & might of got the wrong end of the stick?
Surely it would be more sensible for the op to find out the facts of the case before reporting said friend.
As much as we all want the DWP to catch people frauduently claiming it's not nice to cause stress/upset to innocent people without good reason.
With friends like that who needs enemies.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

The facebook status was- I am now separated- I am ringing tax credits and going to ssafa tomorrow? is that right? to get them to help me get a house to rent in X and see what else I can claim.

And she will have to go through the stress of an investigation by the DWP at the same time as the stress of splitting from her husband.
I agree with Breast Cancer Survivor - with friends like the OP, who needs enemies?0
