    2 chickened out.

Perhaps I should add that the groom is my brother!

I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill because by cashing in an ISA or selling some shares, I can pay. The reason for the OP was just that I was a tad suprised and wondered what was "normal"

Sorry - that made me laugh - that's families for you - just making assumptions. I'd ''ave a word" and if he is younger that you give him a clip round the earhole at the same time :rotfl:

Your going to sell some shares to pay for your suit that you shouldn't be paying for?

    LMAO okay...your TOO nice honestly.

I know it should not be a big deal, but you should really not have to pay out (esp this way to fund it)

You shouldn't have to pay for the best man's suit. I would have a quiet word and say that you cannot afford it. I'm sure they will understand given your circumstances.

We paid for the suite hire when we married this year. The best man's daughter was my only bridesmaid and I paid for her dress and accessories too. I'm Mam to 2 boys though, so got a lot of pleasure from taking an excited young girl shopping for a posh dress. I really enjoyed that shopping trip  We married away from home and paid for his 2 nights in the hotel too, as we felt uncomfortable asking him to pay for it.
Here I go again on my own....
  • so...the wedding went well and everybody loved my speech. The suit hire was £72
