Premier Control Security - Private Parking Company

I received a parking ticket in Southall Macdonalds on Saturday from Premier Control Security. I'd parked left the site to get some money and returned to find a ticket. I explained to the person giving out the tickets and he just said you can't park here without purchasing anything. I went on their website to pay the ticket yesterday and the site said site under construction. I then saw the comments on this site telling everyone to not pay and ignore. I'm a little nervous of not paying this ticket. Is this absolutely correct:question:? Please advise.

you should, don't speak to the PPC at all, but put in a written complaint into their manager, and their head quarters here in the UK, if enough people complain they may change their mind about the scammers, good luck!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
You could also include all the supermarkets and retail parks who employ these scammers. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I replied to your query yesterday, see the links I gave to reassure you:

Then carry on ignoring the whole scam, debt collector letters and all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am new to this so apologies for any errors. I got a ticket too at Southall MacDonald’s, I purchased something from Macdonald’s and then left the site for 5 minutes and upon my return the guy was placing a ticket on my car. He asked me if this was my car I said yes and then he gave me the ticket, he said as I left the site without my car I was liable to pay.
Fair enough I thought as I broke the rules I should pay…however…then he said I can pay by cash and I thought to myself that’s a bit strange. I said I do not have any cash on me, he advised me of the nearest cash machine and said I can go and get the money out. I said what happens if the cash machines were out of order so is there not another way I can pay. He said I can pay by cheque however I did not have a cheque book on hand, I asked can I pay by sending the cheque in the post, he said yes the address is on the ticket.
I though to myself he requested cash of me and told me where the nearest cash point was for me to go and get the cash out but then that means I will be leaving the site (again) without my car to go and get cash out the machine so would I have not broken the rule again?
Now I wish I had read this forum before I went ahead and did what I did… I saw on the ticket that you could also pay online so the next day I went on their website and found that their website was ‘under construction’ (the same as LindyB). I then thought since I cannot pay online I will send them a cheque, which I sent recorded delivery. I also wrote on the back of the envelope ‘if undelivered please return to ‘my address’’. I tracked and traced my letter a couple of days later and found that they had been left with a ‘while you were out card’ it has now been over a month since I received the ticket and sent the cheque and they have still not gone to collect it.
I will now be calling royal mail tomorrow to get the letter sent back to me. So am I doing the right thing as I get really scared about things like this?0 -
Scammers scare honest, decent people into paying when there is no legal validity for their stupid charges. Stuff their silly 'rules', you bought from Mcdonalds. Most of the posters on here have ignored parking 'fines' and lived to tell the tale.
What angers me is how retailers sell their customers to these scammers in return for a cut of the dosh. We need to write to head offices of retail companies and tell the decision makers what we think of their appalling practices.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0 -
Make sure you cancel the cheque , tell the bank its been lost and you are worried about fraud, insist that they cancel it with no charge. Recorded delivery from the royal mail is a bit funny when you check online, half the time its been delivered despite the website saying it hasn't. You don't owe these people anything at all, complain to mcdonalds about these scam tickets, its a franchise complain to the company that owns the site also.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Forget Royal Mail and just cancel the cheque.
Email the parking company and say
"Following legal advice, the cheque related to parking charge notice 12345 has been cancelled. Do not cash it.
No more correspondence will be entered in to."
It's a scam. You've fallen for it, but luckily there's time to fix your mistake.0 -
I cancelled the cheque today, thanks to all for your advice. i rang royal mail and they could not tell me what had happened to my letter. i then rang the delivery office and they had just literally re-delivered my letter today so the parking company now have my cheque which will bounce but they also now have my personal details so I am a bit worried about this.
I will be keeping an eye out for the post and get ready for these letters to arrive.0
