Yes, I did. The ticket says "Parking charge". The hire company says it believes all such "authorities" to be correct in their assessment of the situation. So , if that does happen they would pay up.

Most do as it saves them time and inconvenience and they then sometimes charge you an admin fee.
I assume they have your CC details? A CC company will say they can not stop the payment as you have given them the details. However if you lose the card the CC will cancel it and send you another.;)

Will this not cause the hire company to come after me with bailifs etc?
  • No, only a court can appoint bailiffs that can only happen after you lose a court case and do not pay up. Your chances of being taken to court are zilch and your chances of losing are much less than zilch. Ignore any threats about bailiffs in the threatograms.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

No the law states that if the driver receives an official Penalty charge the registered keeper is responsible for the charge if the driver is not declared.
They would sometimes pay a private charge just to save them time. I doubt that they would pay them if your card payment never went through, I think they would simply pass your details to the PPC then you can ignore them.

Have you asked them to simply forward the invoice to you?

I would challenge the hire company on their use of "authorities" private parking companies have no authority what they are basing their charge on is contract, regarding bailiffs the only authority to send bailiffs is a court.

I got a ticket two weeks ago. Is there anything changes since last post. Does this registered office address change the circumstances.

Sure. It changes from "ignore" to "pay no attention to" :)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
