She seems much better for having had a rest although I'm sure she'll be back to being ratty in a day or two
She's had gates put up this week so now she can crack on with looking for a dog so hopefully that will give her something to focus on too.
We do have a Lakeland nearby, I love pootling in there, especially this time of the year, could spend sooo much money in there

Morning all
My Jamie party last night went really well, it was great fun and we had a lovely evening and also my friends seemed to love the stuff (and not mind the prices too much) as between them they spent £302  which meant that I get to choose £60 of free stuff from the catalogue :j :j
I can't believe how difficult it is to decide on free stuff, I've been umming and aahing for hours
I fell in love with an oak platter thing that you put on the table but its too big for my table so thats had to be ruled out. Instead I thought it would be more sensible to go for practical stuff that I will use regularly rather than something that would only be used for entertainging which happens once in a blue moon at mine
So, I think I've finally decided on; a round loose bottomed cake tin (always needing one but don't have one), a square cake tin (again, often needed and make do with using half a baking tray), a terracotta pizza plate, a gorgeous deep terracotta bowl with an almond glaze inside, and 2 small dumpy kilner jars :T :T Am very very happy with that haul, would definitely recommend holding a party if any of you have a rep in your local area, I also got an oak cheeseboard/knife set and a waiters friend as an offer because of the sales volume which would normally be £66 in the catalogue and I got them for £20. Oh, and also a kidddie set of baking stuff (round tin, rolling pin, cutters, recipe cards, spoon, cake cases and a recipe journal/scrapbook which would be £30 but got for £9 which will do for my nieces birthday in November
So altogether last night I spent £29 but will get stuff that rrps for £156
Anyway, back to today ... the sun is shining, the flat is tidy (ready for last night ), so I think I may take myself off to do some Christmas shopping today while ds isn't around

Glad it went well, I wanted to come but my Mum had to look after my Nan as she's got d&v. I'd like to have a party, my friend who lives in Christchurch has mentioned it in the past so I might well do.... I'd stress nobody would turn up though!!

I've been invited to a pampered chef party next Friday which involves eating.... :rotfl: but will have to wait to see how my Mum is fixed.
Your bits sound lovely, especially the kilner jars. I could do with some to make pickled onions."Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

Oooooh what a fantastic haul:T It was definitely worth it...well done!
Any reply from Sailorboy on meeting up? I never find anyone decent on PoF, was having a free peep on Match last night...will look again later, see if anyone worth messaging...;) I'm very used to being on my own and pleasing myself now, but I guess I don't want to be all on my own forever:o:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Yes he replied to say that he wanrts to meet up, but he has lots of bookings at the moment on his boat but once he knows when he's free he'lll let me know ... he also texted me last night when he was at the pub with his brother. Haven't heard from him yet today, we'll see what later brings

Right, time to go and get dressed, I've decided to go shopping but am heading to nice shops rather than the bog standard high street ones, I want to wander round M&S food department, discover stuff in Lakeland, while away some time in Waterstones and generally enjoy it rather than race round like a loony

Glad the party went well and you got loads of bargains as well, i'm tempted to have one now after reading how well your went.
Tigzem- if you havn't been to a pampered chef party before be prepared for shockingly expensive prices, you can buy similar stuff in Lakeland but Lakeland are cheaper:eek:.0 -
The Jamie party was shockingly expensive too but it didn''t seem to put people off! I could never justify paying those prices but other people didn't seem too bothered by it.
I'm back from the xmas shopping and I didn't buy one xmas present, however I did manage to spend lots of money
I got two more knitted dresses for work (£35), I love them, they're so comfy and cosy and will last me the winter. I then went into Lakeland for about 45 minutes and saw loads of bits i'm going to put on my xmas list, I only spent £10 in there on some greaseproof paper, a Snowman cake topper and some of those edible glitter stars. Then on to M&S where I got another pair of woolly tights (£6) for the winter to go with my dresses, and finally Sainsburys (£11) where I got crispy duck pancakes for tea tonight and a few other bits and bobs.
Back home now, ready for an afternoon of doing a few pottering jobs indoors before an evening of Strictly and X-Factor

Same here:beer::beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I went to a 'Jamie' party and a 'Pampered Chef' party within a couple of months of each other. I think that if I go to one, I need to spend some money to support the hostess so I just grin and bear it! I only went because one hostess is one of my best friends, and the other - the house directly opposite me. Otherwise, I try and come up with an excuse not to go (naughty of me I know).
Glad it went well for you though.0
