Remember I said about the crush I have on ds teacher, well if you watch the John Lewis xmas ad, the guy at the end putting the teddy in his jacket as he gets off the bus looks *just* like him ... sooooo not my normal type but sooo yummy, manly and sensible too

Hmm, well I've done absolutely nothing today in terms of tidying up, the flat is still a tip
Ds wasn't feeling great tonight, think he's coming down with a cold / cough, he fell asleep on the sofa which is very unusual for him
Tomorrow will be the big tidy up day then

I've been planning tidying up for weeks, but have blamed DD then I being ill.......rather than my sheer laziness

Morning all
Not a great night last night, ds was sick a couple of times during the night so a very interrupted nights sleep. He seems better this morning although he's very bungled still.
Am now waiting for the tesco shopping to arrive, should be here between 9-11 this morning. The roads are still really icy so am glad I don't have to go out in the car, well worth the delivery charge me thinks
Today really will be the housework day that yesterday wasn't. The washing machine is already on and will be for most of the day I imagine
I think I may need a list for the holidays too so will be working on that in a bit

Tesco shopping has been delivered, checked off and put away. There were a couple of substitutions that I didn't want, so £6 off the total amount as they went back with the driver, so altogether it came in at £55 which I think is pretty good as the cupboards and fridge are bursting again

The washing machine has been unloaded/refilled and is doing its thing again; the dishwasher has also been unloaded/reloaded and is also working away merrily
At least now I can get on with the day without having to keep looking out for the delivery man, note to self, I must get the doorbell fixed

Quick budget update ....
Food: £177 / £200
Petrol: £15 / £60
Other: £125 / £223
Am actually really pleased with that, the food budget is getting tight now but I should only need bits and pieces, we're not here on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, so hopefully it will still be do-able. The petrol budget will get hit soon, the car needs it but while its icy I'm not going out in it anyway, so the longer I can eke that one out the better
The bit I'm most pleased with is the 'other' budget, it started off at about £100 for the month so has been a great month for moneymaking, lots of xmas offers from the bookies has helped nicely
I'm not planning any more big nights out with the possible exception of New Years Eve, but that may be a night in with mates instead
The last big temptation for me is the sales
I may have a few pennies left in the budget for them but will be trying to avoid them mianly! Mortgage Total: £49,992/ £75,000

Hmm, the snow has started again and I can't help but wonder whats going to happen this time next week if its still here; I won't want ds travelling 60 miles to his dads on boxing day, but that will cause one almighty row ..... Will have to see how the weather goes during the week but at the moment its not looking good on the forecast

Hi benben, what are you going to do with the left over money from your 'other' pot (if you haven't spent it in next?). Will it rollover to next month, or will you put it into savings/mortgage?
Don't think I'd want a child of mine travelling that distance either. Not exactly essential travel is it?0
