how lovely of your mum and dad to give you this cheque...i suggest you put in a separate account for treats when you feel you can't continue any longer or the pressure is just too much, so a treat/contingency fund in one.... may be a nice outfit for christmas and a haircut or something 'me'... a lovely end to a year for you too.....

I agree with savingmore, this really is pennies from heaven, so whilst I'm sure its very tempting to make a mortgage overpayment, given the ex-from-hell situation, I think you'd be wise to keep it as emergency/treat money in a separate account :)
  • Well whadd'ya know ....

Just when all things financial seem to be going against me, a little ray of sunshine appears ...

We popped into mum and dads as my sister and nephew had gone round there, and while there my parents gave me (and my sister) a cheque for £1000. Its money left from my nan, she left everything to my dad and my aunt, and mum and dad wanted us all to have something too, so have given us a cheque each. I'm very touched, I have no idea what I'll do with it yet, am guessing it will be in the abnk for a while while I think about it :) Does help ease the pressure though ;) :T :T

Right, back to tonight; nephews present sorted and delivered, ds clothes for staying at mums delivered, baths done, still got bucket loads to do though ... ds still needs to write his teachers cards, I need to write cards for people at school, I need to wrap a present for someone at school, I need to decide what I'm going to wear tomorrow night, I need to decide how the hell I'm getting there tomorrow (do I walk to school, then get a lift to the meal, then get a cab home, or do I drive to school, drive to the meal, drive home, get changed, get the bus into town then a cab home, or something else??? Aaaagh!!!! So many decisions!!! :o:)

That was excellent news my dad gave me £500 yesterday and I was very pleased too, it all adds to the savings pot, however ours is for when i have to take time off work unpaid when hopefully our adoption goes through.

Morning all :) Well we're on holiday now :j Yesterday went in a bit of a whirl, school, then our christmas meal then we hit the pub at 4.45pm and I got home just after midnight :D It was a great night, spent about £40 altogether yesterday which was about as expected, and now I've woken up to snow :) which actually isn't a good thing as ds is at mums and my car is still at school :o:o Hmm, think he may be staying there for a bit although the forecast says more snow today and tomorrow and he doesn't really have snow type clothes at mums :o Hmmm ....

Anyway, for now I'm not moving far from bed, am very tired and a little fragile :D

Actually I just got up and got some water and looked at the snow and I don't feel yucky at all :) :j Think i could do with a couple more hours under the duvet though so am back in the warm now, but quite pleased that my head is clear :D

I am avoiding looking at the state around me though, the flat is an utter disgrace and tbh its probably a good thing if ds doesnt come back from myms yet as it will give me some time to sort it a bit first :)

Tescos order is done and being delivered tomorrow morning, its worth the delivery charge to not have to battle round the supermarket with ds at this time of year ;):)

Off now to check some matched betting offers and do any surveys in my inbox, then I might think about getting up :D

Ds is home, mum wanted to bring him back now as we're forecast more snow later. The sun is out at the moment and last nights lot is going slushy so she brought him back now while the weather isn't too bad.

This afternoon I'm not planning on going anywhere, I went and got some bread and milk and some cod fillets for tea tonight, now it will be an indoor day with some housework and some relaxation time thrown in along the way :D

First stop, french bread and cheese for lunch, then a bit of housework :) I did get some surveys done, still have loads more to do, I also did a free offer but messed it up a bit, came out of it with about £1.50 profit so still better than nothing :D
