No you wont get any more money with doing less hours. And money from where? Ask back at work if you can up your hours again!0

I was told if you do anything more then 16 hours you start to get less housing befits ect and that 16 hours is better benefit wise then 21.0

I think you might be confusing it with working tax credit which is available to overs 25s, and those working who have young children.
Seeing as you are neither over 25 nor have small children, you need to get your hours back. Ideally, as the cost of living is so expensive you need to be working at least 38+ hours to pay for your bills.
Didn't you not think things through before leaving home?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -

You're 19!! Why would you want to be relying on benefits are your age??
You may get more HB but you'll have less money coming in so your situation isn't going to change dramaticallyFuture Mrs Gerard Butler

Well due to my mothers illness I was forced homeless for about four months before I found the job and was only able to move back with her for about a week then she took an overdose so...no not really didn't have much time to think.0

If you drop your hours to 16 you'll get more HB and possibly (though unlikely) CTB simply because you have less income. It's hardly a way to make yourself feel better off. As you were so close to getting no HB anyway it means that if you can up your hours to 22 or more then, although you will have to pay full rent and council tax, everything you earn above that is yours to keep and not just being taken off your HB payment.
Can you not look for a second job to help out or increase the hours in your current job to above your old 21 hours?0 -

Relying on benefits....RELYING ON BENEFITS ! Did you not happen to read that I walk over 8 miles so I can work JUST so i Don't have to rely on Job seekers.
THE soul reason I making this post Is so I don't have to get fired and have all my rent ect payed for me, I do this because I'm a good person and hate taking I pay my own way but when I spent 5 days with no food it started to change me and i started to think That help should be there for those who need it.0 -

I'd probably find your post more sincere if you hadn't just lowered your hours in the hope of getting more benefit.Future Mrs Gerard Butler

Work would not give me more hours so I asked them to lower ( As we know why)
I think it would be hard for me to find another job that will not !!!! off my boss and that would work with my hours atm.
I had been thinking of it tho0
