  • For what you are paying I found center parcs very over priced - really all you are paying for is self catering accommodation and free use of the pool!!!

I took my little girl for a mid week break in November ( she was not school age at the time) and it was less than £150 for 4 days in which seemed OK try that now and the price is closer to £500!!!

A real rip off - I wont be going back any time soon ....

Hum - we used to go to CP before the kids went to school - in the days when they went to bed early.....and DH and i used to watch a DVD..

but now we want more from an evening on holiday - we can watch DVD's at home. We find that CP has nothing to offer us in the evenings....no entertainment / shows etc for kids... all families seem to do in the evening is go out to eat in chain restaurants. If they had independent restaurants using locally sourced foods with local specialities to try i might be more motivated to eat out.

The swimming pools are fantastic and so are the bike rides - which would occupy the kids all day easliy but what CP lacks for us is evening entertainment. If they are aiming at up market they could have a theatre or musical entertainment of some sort.

I think this is because we live in the sticks- we live in a beautiful wooded surrounding so when on holiday want to go out on an evening with the kids because at home the nearest pub is miles away.

I think some do have little cinemas but I don't remember seeing anything advertised on our last visit (March). We went to the magic show at the pancake house one evening which was great fun (food was a bit rubbish though, apart from the pancakes themselves), I like to visit the spa in the evening too. I think if they added more evening entertainment for "free" it would force up the prices even more but I agree it would be nice to have the option of something other than swimming / bowling / sitting in a bar or pub.

The cinemas disappeared a few years ago, they were not good anyway. Old films and rubbish sound, the free popcorn & icecream didn't make up for it!
Now that accommodation have DVD's they don't have the cinema option, but no great loss.

There are quiz nights and shows (panto/halloween parties in winter etc..) throughout the year. Not everyones cup of tea, but still a bit of nightlife.
I think they'd only change this if enough people commented on their questionnaire post holiday that they wanted this.
