They take visa debit -they just don't do cashback with it. It meant all purchases had to go on a card.

That's a bit strange, not much help.
  • Thanks for all the advice, we had a great time, but I would say to anyone going to Longleat, think about the hills before you hire the bikes!! We couldnt cycle to our villa, but could cycle everywhere else, so had to walk up hill pushing the bikes then we were off, but it menat we aimed to stay out all day rather than popping back into the villa, because of the steep hills. We were in the maple villas, so downside is the hills, plus side is maid service (fab!!) so you come back to an emptied dishwasher, made beds, hoovered floors and generally nice and tidy which was lovely.

Unless you have been in the last 28 days they no longer do deals. They work on the scenario the earlier booked the better the cost. However not always works in practice as they have been known to reduce costs when villas don't sell, supply & demand concept. School holidays can get booked up quickly especially if you want a specific villa area.

Glad you had a good time!

I'm going next Monday to Whinfell & already looking to book for Jan 2012. Seen a break for just £199 for 4 nights so that's cheap. waiting to come home to see if I can get some ££ off the price with my return code...if not I still think its a great price!

Wow thats a greap price but thats soo far in advance. I to have been considering going here as we now have a dog but at £399 for mid week break think ill be giving it a miss. Do they have a sale on after Xmas or are their prices pretty much constant year round?

Well I called them yesterday to say I was interested in the 2012 break & to see what they could offer me & I booked it! £199 for the 4 nights, free insurance worth £26.50 & £25 of vouchers!

Its well worth booking in advance. The break I'm going on next week was booked July 2009 & I got it for £219 for 6 people. I don't "do" last minute bookings! Also have an Easter break booked when the kids are off school for £249 - only cos I looked well in advance & they hadn't realised that some schools were off on a different week to their huge price hike.

Don't think I've ever paid more than £249 for a midweek break there in the 5 yrs I've been going to Whinfell. Unfortunately they don't do sales............but I really do advice booking in advance and they also have a price guarantee that if its cheaper after you've booked it they refund you.

Thanks for the above info. Do you pay a deposit with centreparcs then and pay the rest nearer the time? Typically when it the best month to go thats not too expensive?

Yes you pay a deposit & pay off the balance 10 weeks before you're due to go. Regarding the best month? well I find September & January the cheapest....kids are back in school so parents aren't keen to take them out again & January - well that's obvious - skint after the festive season!!

Have a look & play about with the dates you could get, worth a look & you might be surprised!
