The system is Windows xp home sp3 T2250@1.73GHz 0.99 GB ram, auto update is on,not sure about how to check the page size but interested in Donnie's comment about Orange everywhere as I thought that had been removed ? Is that likely to cause such a problem ?

It's just that the France Telecom Routing Table Service is still there. You can get rid of it.

    C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\France Telecom\Shared Modules\FTRTSVC\0\FTRTSVC.exe

Is a Factory Restore out of the question?

Do you have the same Wireless entries on your Hijack This log?

    Hi Donnie,
I will remove the France telecom routing table,I would consider a factory restore once I have spoken to my daughter but I will probably need a full post of instructions from one of you guys to get me through it IF you have the time.
    Thanks

jock - your system spec is certainly quick enough, so it's deffo software that's causing the slowdown...follow donnie's advice ref the Orange stuff, and see how you go :)

p.s. the page file setting can be found by:- control panel>system>advanced>Performance-settings>advanced>Virtual Memory-change. Set this to System-managed size. Will need a reboot to appy it (it will tell you so).

The main thing with a Factory Restore is that she will lose any information stored. So you'll need to make a copy of any important information.
