Run a Full scan with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware

Have you taken care of the Wireless entries? If so, prepare another Hijack Log.

The wireless connection is working well and appears sorted, just want to tidy up the running side of things as its quite slow in comparison to my own in relation to booting up and initial running up of firefox from the desktop.
I will sort out those scans as you asked and post later.
    Thanks

If you are not bothered with the wireless side of things you can leave that part of it.

    Donnie,
I have timed the startup times from switch on until you reach the desktop and connect to the internet for both mine and my daughters laptops, they are both the same dell inspiron and same ram but i run Vista home and hers is xp sp3 BUT whilst mine's takes 1min 25 sec, hers takes 5m45s to reach the same point,is there any reason for this and do you have any idea what could be done to speed her's up.
I have ran ccleaner, malware, speeduplite, defrag with no real improvement.
    Thanks

jock - you need to look closely at what's starting up at boot time on your daughter's lappy - 5-odd mins is too long :(

have you got ccleaner on it? if so, go to tools>startup, and disable anything that's not really needed from starting at boot time, and that should help....

what spec is the pc, RAM, processor, hdd, etc ?? IS your page file set to system-managed size? are all the progs (e.g. av, windows, etc) set to auto-update ? May be more we can help with if you can provide more info....

also, maybe something like trial version of tuneup utilities or maybe even automz ultimate tweaker could help (both system optimiser tools)

    spec first....
