Dear All, well it turns out the company still have another code offering flowers free with a discout of £22.50 off leaving you no bill to pay.... If anyone wants the code or thinks I should post it then let me know....

I think if I were you i'd just leave well alone.

    Carlahostie,

Have had a look at the website and you are correct, it does clearly state:

I am trying to order more than 1 item but it is not charging me the correct price?
If you are ordering a promotional item that is reduced in price, you can order as many times as you like but you MUST order each item separately to receive the correct discount each time!

    Print this off quickly!

You know you went a bit over the top, but the above is definitely in your favour.
After ordering, you will receive a payment receipt via email confirming your transaction. You will also receive a email from us when your order is processed.

Did you receive email confirmations for each order, and did these confirm the price to be nil? If so, these will also support your case.

I have looked everywhere for a phone number, but they conveniently don't seem to have one. However they do have live chat, which is not active at the moment but presumably will be in office hours.

My advice would be to email or 'live chat' them, and simply explain that the orders you made were on a special offer with a price of nil, and that you have the email confirmations to prove this (assuming you do). I would be very matter of fact about it, just simply state the facts (and definitely don't admit fault!), and see what response you get. If you get an unfavourable response, then end the conversation and either post back on here or get further advice.

Let us know what happens! x

Ignore it. It is their mistake and they are trying to put the frighteners on you to reclaim some money. Don't reply to this either by letter, fax or phone (if you manage to find a number).

Print off anything you have from their website (orders T&C's etc) and wait.

I bet you won't hear from them again! If you do then go to CAB.

As to all those who have slagged off the OP, I think that you are wrong. So what if 50 orders were made? You are judging that 50 orders by one person is worse than 50 people making 1 order; the outcome is the same. Perhaps some jealousy for not getting one? :)

It is the companies fault if they accepted them and processed it not the OPs. The firm could easily have cancelled the orders but they didn't.

For two reasons, please don't ignore the invoice.

Firstly, you're not going to rest until you know it is resolved.

Secondly, and hopefully this won't be the case, there may be some well hidden terms and conditions that we have missed that do leave you with some liability. I have looked everywhere and can't find them, but that's not to say they don't exist.

If they do have a claim against you and you ignore them, it will end up with debt collectors and/ or in the small claims court and with you getting a CCJ.

I don't think they have any case against you, but without getting a response from them you can't know that for sure.

I agree with your first reason. I believe that the second reason is flawed. Do you really think that they are going to take someone to court after sending one letter (which, unless it was sent recorded or special delivery) they cannot prove the OP received it??? It is to put the frighteners on pure and simple. Wait and see IF they do anything else. You are looking at the worst case scenario (most unlikely) without there being further correspondence an unlikely situation.

The letter was sent recorded but no one at my home address signed for it, it was just posted...

Mmmm. That is interesting.... And a bit worrying as it shows they mean business.

Look at Royalmails website for track and trace and see if it shows delivery.

I would love to know which company this is and which discount site gave you the code....

Sounds like both you and the company in question have been more than a little bit silly...

Also, if you were sending these out to your friends and family, did not one of them stop to think about your particular financial position and question why you appeared to be wasting money on flowers for them? Can't be very good friends, if you don't mind me saying :o .

I agree with others on this board. It sounds like a bluff if the solicitors mentioned on the letter haven't heard about this. However, rather than waiting for the court summons, perhaps you should call the company to sort something out.

Hope things work out for you.
